1. beabadoobee, “Switchblade”
Pylon » Dirty Hit / Interscope Records » 2026
“Switchblade” commences with ear-catching distorted guitar and sound effects – ROCK ON! There is no way you can’t describe the record as colorful. Beyond those gritty sounds, “Switchblade” is anchored by a distinct groove. As for beabadoobee, she never gets too high or too low. She sings the rhythmic melodic lines in an undertone. “Feeling worn thin, can I learn to trust again?” she sings in the second verse and concludes, “Growing old just seems to break everythin’ that we mend / Hold my lighter, courage flicker, burn and fade.” She packs a punch, undertone or not, including a timely f-bomb: “Growing up just means to fuck everything up again / Take my switchblade, self-defense is to be brave.” Word. The chorus is special:
“Either seether with this anger?
Can’t control this fever
That just takes it out of me
Takes it out of me.”
All told, the distorted, sometimes glitchy “Switchblade” is thrilling.

2. bbno$, “burger”
“burger” » bbno$ » 2026
Like many a bbno$ song, “burger” is a piece of work. It begins with an intro that gasses the rapper up: “In this side of the ring, we got bbno$ / Five foot ten, two hundred and fifteen pounds of pure goddamn muscle / Show ‘em what you got, Baby, come on.” Cute! Meanwhile, the musical accompaniment is lush, led by strings, and favors an old-school soul sample. After the intro, bbno$ gets to work, backed by a vibrant backdrop, including a punchy beat. The signature boisterous and electrifying synths are synth-ing as well, solidifying the electronic rap vibes we’re accustomed to from Baby. He delivers his usual brand of assertive rhymes, oozing with personality. The lyrics are adventurous, outlandish, and often NSFW. In the first verse, he asserts that “Jungkook dancin’ on my real shit / I’m off my ship for the Stray Kids / My girlfriend’s lookin’ like Felix.” In the second, he gets personal: “Real small dick, got a real big brain / And that post-nut clarity keep me sane.” Oh, and for good measure: “Supercalifragilistic, certified and bussalicious / Yes, I got a thousand bitches, but they still won’t let me finish.” Bbno$ also gives us a fun pre-chorus (composed of “Straight Robitussin”) and, of course, the crème de la crème, the chorus:
“Buss it (Buss it, bu-bu-buss it, I like it when you bu-bu-buss it)
Buss it, bu-bu-buss it, I like it when you bu-bu-buss it
Buss it.”
All in all, “burger” is a brief but ultra-entertaining song from bbno$. It’s silly and irreverent, but we wouldn’t have it any other way from our Canadian standout.

3. Cardi B, “AH HA”
“AH HA” » Atlantic Recording Corporation » 2026
“AH HA” is turnt up from the get-go. The hard-hitting beat provides a mighty anchor. Beyond the beat, the production is colorful, and believe it or not, pretty sophisticated. Who isn’t sophisticated is Cardi B, intentionally! She serves up an aggressive, assertive flow. She’s locked in, and guess how many fucks she gives? ZERO! “Bitches really hate me (So?), so be it (So be it) / Bathroom floors and these hoes both heated,” she spits, unbothered in the first verse. She brags in the second, “Cute in the face, heavy on the backside / Pussy on get a nigga baptized / I was sparin’ bitches, for real, y’all was lucky / But this year, I’m pullin’ up and shittin’ like a Huggie, huh?” Not the shitty diaper reference! The unpitched moments go the hardest, but I like the melodic moments as well. These occur during the crème de la crème, the chorus. Those pitched moments flow nicely against that banging production.
“I’m laughin’ like ‘Ah, ha’
Ho, suck my dick, I’m like ‘Ah, ha’
Let me post my lil’ pic, I’m like ‘Ah, ha’
Let me show off my ‘fit, I’m like ‘Ah, ha’
Look, broke bitch, you wish.”
On “AH HA”, Cardi B brings fire and ample personality. No, it’s not eloquent or the least bit refined, but it’s an energetic, unapologetic banger, PERIODT.

4. Davido & NO11, “Gimme Dat Ting”
Oriadé » David Music Worldwide Limited / Sony Music Entertainment UK Limited » 2026
The electrifying groove on “Gimme Dat Ting” gets those feet tapping and head nodding instantly. The production and sound are hypnotic. Some colorful musical cues hit the spot. The “hee(s),” sung by NO11, are enigmatic and – not to sound redundant, but – a surefire vibe! They appear during the intro and recur during the chorus.
“Hee, hee
Hee, hee (That thing)
Hee (Gimme that thing), hee
Hee, hee.”
NO11 and Davido both perform the pre-chorus but sing their parts separately. “‘Cause I’m way too high, ọmọ (Omọ) / Me, I wanna feel that vibe, ọmọ,” N011 sings, with Davido adding, “Me, I can’t lie, I’m faded / Wón ní wón wá mi, baby / I get two vibes wey dey drive me crazy (Baddest) / I just touch down ABJ lane.” Beyond the chorus, NO11 performs the post-chorus and refrain, both of which emphasize the titular lyric. Davido performs the sole verse, which is confident to the nth degree. “She just needs drip and a couple zeros (Couple zeros) / She rockin’ Casami’, she needs a Hero (Hey),” He sings, and continues, “So fat from my point of view / Feel me hot like say na Cheeto.” Memorably, at the end of his verse, he asserts, “Ginger me, fuck you, pay me / Always active, baby, never lazy / YKB, baby, sé you know ball?” The record concludes with the pre-chorus, with NO11 dominating the chorus, post-chorus, and refrain. All said and done, Davido and NO11 drop a truly fun, vibe-laden Afrobeats record with “Gimme Dat Ting”.
5. DESTIN CONRAD, “FAVORITE LOVER”
ROADRUNNER » DESTIN CONRAD / EMPIRE » 2026
“FAVORITE LOVER” benefits from well-rounded production. Sleek but relatively minimal, the sounds that stand out most are the sickening groove and a robust bass line. Harmonically, the music is uncomplicated, but that’s no rub – it works out well, without a hitch. As always, the handsome and talented DESTIN CONRAD brings it. He delivers a fabulous vocal performance, characterized by his beautiful, pure tone. Making things even more ear-catching are the rhythmic, tuneful melodies and unforgettable lyrics that embrace Jamaican Patois. The chorus, excerpted earlier, is the crème de la crème – the section to beat. Even so, the verses (one is bridge-like) and refrain are alluring too. Confident, DESTIN asserts in the first verse, “Know it’s hard to resist, me up in these Prada jeans.” In the refrain, the desire is pronounced: “Want you in my room/ Dim the lights / Set the vibes / Leave in the mornin’.” And that second verse/bridge: “Grip on it (Grip) / Release me (Ha)/… I know that I’m sexy, like I love you (Mm) / Oh did he say, ‘I love you,’ under covers?” Once again, DESTIN CONRAD gives listeners an irresistibly delicious treat with “FAVORITE LOVER”.

6. DESTIN CONRAD, “I LOVE YOUR BODY”
ROADRUNNER » DESTIN CONRAD / EMPIRE » 2026
“I LOVE YOUR BODY” slaps from the beginning. The production is colorful and sleek, capturing contemporary reggae sublimely. Groovy and rhythmic to the nth degree, it’s hard not to move your body to this one. DESTIN CONRAD is sickening, delivering expressive, playful, and sensual vocals. The keyword is sensual. “Want you from when you walk in,” he sings in the first verse, and concludes, “You know you a problem.” In the second, DESTIN suggests, “Let’s cut the tension / Love and affection /… Their love is whatever, my love is forever.” Oh, snap! In the pre-chorus, unsurprisingly, he notes, “And there’s something ‘bout your waist / I wanna get closer to your frame.” And the chorus, the centerpiece, is all about body love! “I love your body / Don’t want nobody.” Woo! No extensive analysis or commentary is necessary about this one. On “I LOVE YOUR BODY”, DESTIN CONRAD continues to impress us with his incredible musical versatility. Face it, that man could sing the phonebook and wow us!

7. JENNIE, “Less than a Lover”
“Less Than a Lover” » Columbia Records » 2026
“Less than a Lover” keeps the duration less than two-and-a-half minutes. That is sufficient time for JENNIE to do her thang. The record commences with smooth, rhythmic chords at the beginning. An appealing groove provides an anchor. Throughout, the production touches are colorful and suit JENNIE superbly. She delivers silky smooth vocals. Her tone is beautiful, as she sings the memorable melodies and lyrics. “Splashing in the water / Please don’t make this harder on me,” she sings in the second verse, and concludes, “Tan lines on your body / I’m tracing your spine in degrees.” So, what theme is JENNIE exploring? The sweet spot between friend and lover. The chorus is golden and easily gets stuck in your head. Also, it somewhat clarifies what she wants… I think:
“Is a little bit less than a lover
Need a little bit less than a lover
You get a little bit more than another
Need a little bit less, little less, little less
Need a little bit less than a lover.”
Does “Less than a Lover” make sense? No, not completely, but that’s the case with love, like, so on, and so forth. What does make sense is that this is another awesome pop bop from a talented artist. Hopefully, she figures out this less-than-love thing, but she’s got the music thing locked down.

8. Jordan Davis, “Mess”
“Mess” » MCA Nashville / UMG Recordings, Inc. » 2026
The first selling point for “Mess” is its lilting compound-duple meter. Another selling point is the production. The lovely guitar textures are marvelous. Furthermore, there are plenty of scintillating country music cues. The biggest selling point of “Mess” is Jordan Davis himself. He delivers pure vocals, and I adore the richness of his tone. He’s commanding in the verses (“Let me lose you one more time, girl, don’t / Make it more than what it isn’t”), while the chorus is golden. This is where Davis’s bread is buttered… or most buttery! It benefits from being memorable, rhythmic, and tuneful.
“Make me undo all my never agains
Make me believe that you need me and then
Back me up down the hall, lock the door
Shake the walls just ‘cause you can
Then go ahead, leave me like the bed
Make me a mess (Make me a mess).”
The brief instrumental section before the bridge is terrific, while the bridge follows, distinguishing itself from the chorus and verses (“And I’ll kick myself when the sun meets the moon / Pick up the pieces you leave when you do what you do”). Ultimately, “Mess” is a relatively short but sweet, well-rounded country song. There is no doubt that Mr. Davis is one talented fella.

9. KATSEYE, “Animal”
WILD – EP » HYBE UMG LLC » 2026
“Animal” is anchored by a mean groove. There is no way that some part of the body doesn’t move. The rhythmic guitar fits in perfectly, appearing during the unforgettable chorus (more on that later). All in all, the production is sleek, perfectly exemplifying the modern pop sound. The girls bring it with energetic, personality-filled vocal performances. Tuneful melodies and memorable lyrics don’t hurt their cause either. Like many boy/girl groups, the parts are divided throughout the song. Megan (who sang the lyric excerpted earlier) and Yoonchae perform the first verse. Lara sings the pre-chorus, where she asserts, “You make the light and the shadows collide / Your body gets twisted and tangled in mine.” Daniela and Sophia split the centerpiece, the chorus, where “Nobody knows you’re outta control / But I see a side behind the closed doors / They get a glimpse here on the dance floor / You move like an animal.” Woo! Daniela and Yoonchae take on the second verse this go-round, with Lara holding it down on the pre-chorus, once more. Sophia and Lara perform the second iteration of the chorus. Sophia performs the bridge (“I’m gettin’ overwhelmed / R-r-r-right now / Want you to give it to me / All night long”), while Yoonchae, Megan, Sophia, and Lara split the final chorus. “Animal” is another brief song by KATSEYE, and yet, another irresistible one.

10. Kid Souf, “DONT LIKE TO DANCE”
“DONT LIKE TO DANCE” » James Giardinelli » 2026
“DONT LIKE TO DANCE” keeps things brief. In honor of this brief song, I won’t belabor things. Kid Souf puts in work, PERIODT. That work includes sleek, electronic production work. The beat is sick, while the synths are punchy and vibrant. The backdrop kicks ass and takes names, serving as a surefire catalyst for ‘cutting a rug.’ Or, maybe you’re like Kid Souf, and you don’t like to dance either (“I’m just uncomfortable when I move”). Regardless, the body will be moving, even if from your seat… or the bedroom. Beyond the accompaniment, he also puts in work performing. The chorus, which is sung and was excerpted earlier, is infectious to the nth degree. The hook is hooking, hard! The rapped, unpitched vocals also pack a punch. His flow is agile, and he’s playful with it. “Bass line, hit your waist line / I could just see you, call me FaceTime / Order some shots on my tab,” he spits, adding, fittingly, that the dude’s “damn fine.” Ooh-wee! All told, “DONT LIKE TO DANCE” is a bop-and-a-half, thanks to its marvelous, clubby production, and the personality-filled performance by Kid Souf. Whether he enjoys dancing or not, this shit slaps!

11. Leo Von Sol, “Heatwave”
“Heatwave” » Celestial Bodyshop Studios / Venice Music » 2026
“Heatwave” commences with a warm, rhythmic, summery pad. Following the tone-setting intro, Leo Von Sol impresses with his cool, playful, smooth, rhythmic vocals. Besides his easy-going singing, he catches the ear with timely spoken-word ad-libs. The melodies are tuneful throughout the verses. The chorus is the crème de la crème:
“Caught up in your heatwave
Skin on skin
Sweat drippin’ down my back as you pull me in
Wanna feel your heatwave
Can’t break free
Caught up in your heatwave.”
Following the second verse, rather than hearing the second chorus, we get a bridge (“No air, I’m floating / No ground when you hold me / Feel you in every part of me now”). This is surprising but keeps “Heatwave” engaging. Eventually, that second chorus arrives, as glorious as the first. In true Leo Von Sol fashion, there are plenty of spoken-word vocals near the end of this hot single. It’s not all seductive talking, though (still, “Hands on me, don’t stop, don’t pause / Skin so hot, got things slippin’ off” is pretty hot). He concludes by singing, once more showing off those sweet pipes. All told, Leo Von Sol shines; rather, he ‘brings the heat’ on “Heatwave”. This is a summery song that is worth spinning well beyond the hottest months!

12. Orville Peck, “Too Little, Too Late”
Mule » Warner Records, Inc. / Orville Peck, LLC » 2026
“Too Little, Too Late” begins with compelling guitar riffs. Drums kick in. Later, claps add to the percussiveness. Orville Peck delivers assertive and commanding vocals. His tone is exceptional – it’s EVERYTHING. The lyrics are simple but memorable, and the melodies, across all sections, are tuneful. “You’re back again, you wanna go,” he sings in the first verse, and continues, “Yeah, love songs on your radio / Those records are all burned out anyway.” The chorus is incredibly sweet and infectious to the nth degree.
“Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh, they say
Good things come to those who wait
Too little, too late.”
The bridge distinguishes itself from the verses and chorus. It features a different harmonic progression and melody. Still, it’s clearly related: “Little too late to wish you were mine / I’m all alone and, honey, I feel fine.” All in all, Orville Peck makes my ears perk up with “Too Little, Too Late”. Those piercing blue eyes put in some serious work. Great vocals, songwriting, production, and the works. A country bop, to say the least!

13. Quavo, “Trance (Walk It Down)”
“Trance (Walk It Down)” » Quality Control Music, LLC / UMG Recordings, Inc. » 2026
“Trance (Walk It Down)” begins with a four-count. You know what that means… It’s a Pharrell Williams production! The beat doesn’t disappoint. It’s electrifying and futuristic; it sounds like it was born in outer space. I love the bounciness about it. With Pharrell doing his thang behind the boards, Quavo delivers a compelling cadence and flow. He’s chill yet brings attitude and confidence. Beyond the melodic chorus, he goes unpitched during the verses. It should come as no surprise that ass is the theme. “Three-sixty, baby, turn around (Turn around) / It’s the summertime, she got her titties out (Shawty bad),” he spits, and adds, “Only shit popping is her ass and rubber bands.” In the second verse, “All the bad bitches want a new thing (Woo) / Throw it back, catch it like a boomerang.” Damn! By the end of the verse, Quavo asserts, “Locked in ‘cause I like the way that ass move.” The third and final verse offers more of the same, where he “Told her shake (Baow), no breaks (Don’t stop) / All ass (Where it’s at?), in your face (Ooh).” “Trance (Walk It Down)” is not sophisticated, nor is it meant to be. But, as an ‘ass anthem,’ Quavo keeps it dumb and utterly satisfying, all told.

14. Sam Smith, “When He’s Gone”
Hazel Eyes » SSW Recordings Limited / Universal Music Operations Limited » 2026
“When He’s Gone” feels cool, calm, and collected from the get-go. It commences with a chill, easy-going groove. The sound is relatively low-key, with a dash of folk-pop vibes. Sam Smith sings with beautiful, buttery-smooth vocals. As always, their tone = chef’s kiss. Adding to the excellence are tuneful melodies, memorable lyrics, and a dope vocal arrangement. The background vocals are sickening! The first verse is great: “Fills my heart with sorrow, how the hell did we turn down this road?” Well, maybe not so much the feelings Sam is experiencing: “Fills my heart with sorrow, how the hell did we slip down so low?” But the sound and vibe = SUPERB! The second verse is fancier, featuring additional background vocals. Matters of the heart still fuel the fire: “I’m the only one for him, this much I believe / If you cut me clean in half, his name, I will bleed.” Oh, snap! Of course, the chorus, excerpted earlier, is the crowning achievement. Still, the bridge is fun too, led by those rad background vocals. Once again, Sam Smith strikes gold with “When He’s Gone”. Great vocals, songwriting, tuneful melodies, and production make it a surefire bop!

15. Saucy Santana, “Quiet on the Creek”
“Quiet on the Creek” » Saucy Santana / StreamCut » 2026
“Shh, quiet on the creek
Quiet on the creek (You gotta be quiet)
Shh, shh, quiet on the creek
Real quiet on the creek…”
“Quiet on the Creek” was written by Saucy Santana and producer The Trax.
Against the banging, minimalist backdrop, including creaking sounds, Saucy Santana gives us three verses on “Quiet on the Creek.” His cadence and flow are compelling. In the first verse, he paints a picture of a fine-ass man: “Tattoos, six feet, a nice real physique (Mwah).” He concludes the verse with a bang: “He like to trick, he like to treat, I heard he was a freak (Uh-huh) / But when you run your mouth that’s when a nigga start to tweak.” A quiet refrain precedes the second verse. Here, “If you don’t say a peep, you get Chanel every week (Whew) / I heard he a cowboy, that nigga ain’t cheap (Haha).” Quietness is the key! The unforgettable full-blown chorus precedes the third and final verse. The third verse is the lengthiest, with no shortage of eyebrow-raising moments. “You know I got a man, why you tryna make me cheat / I hear them saxophones, it’s getting loud on the creek,” Saucy Santana spits, adding, “I want my trade, so we quiet on the creek / He got a baby mama, but his kids on my cheek (Hush).” Holy jizz! So, he’s sharing this man with his baby mama, and asserts, “I keep that nigga cummin’, I got him at his peak…” Ooh-wee! Ultimately, Saucy Santana brings it on the incredibly fun “Quiet on the Creek”. It has attitude, energy, and one of my favorite things – messiness!

16. STELLA LEFTY, “Lean In, Kiss Me”
Long Way Home » Atlantic Outpost / STELLA LEFTY » 2026
“Lean In, Kiss Me” commences with a brief, traditional, country-flavored guitar accompaniment. It doesn’t take long for STELLA LEFTY to begin singing. Her performance is solid – expressive, nuanced, with no over-singing in sight. It’s well-rounded, PERIOD. The verses are pleasant; they are melodious and feature memorable lyrics. “Tell me if I spoke too soon,” she sings in the second verse, and continues, “But I kinda want you in my room / Do I make you wanna make a move?” Ooh-wee! Likewise, the chorus, excerpted earlier, is quite tuneful and features the song’s most memorable lyrics. Oh, and there’s banjo 🪕!
“…Are you seeing what I see?
Know we’re just friends, but we don’t have to be
Baby, I wanna be yours
If you wanna be mine, what you standing there for?
Would you lean in? Would you kiss me?
Tell me, do you feel what I feel when you’re with me?”
The bridge marks another win for STELLA: “Is it such a bad, is it such a bad thing, babe? Mm / Is it such a bad, is it such a bad thing, baby?” All in all, STELLA LEFTY strikes gold with “Lean In, Kiss Me”. Perhaps it’s not groundbreaking or the second coming, but it’s a brief, enjoyable, and sound country-pop single.

17. Tinashe, “Crash Out”
Popstar » Tinashe Music Inc. / Atlantic Recording Corporation » 2026
“Crash Out” shines from the get-go. The tight beat provides a mighty anchor. The song thrives off its vibrant electronic pop production (striking synths, etc.). The star of the show is Tinashe, who brings mad attitude to her performance. She’s confident asf! The attitude also includes some salty, profane language: “All these motherfuckers ‘bout to set me off (Set me off) / I swear, no, I’m not the one,” and “I don’t wanna be a good girl (I don’t wanna be a good girl) / I don’t wanna be nice, fuck being polite.” Ooh-wee! D-d-damn gurl! Throughout, “Crash Out” features rhythmic, melodic lines. Upping the ante, at select moments, are lovely, harmonized vocals. The memorable, incredibly tuneful chorus is the section to beat, crash out and all:
“Think I’m ‘bout to lose it (Lose it), I don’t even care no more (Care no more)
I been on some cool shit (Uh, uh), but I’m ‘bout to lose control (Lose control)
I’m about to crash out, every time I go outside (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
Think I’m ‘bout to lose it (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
(Think I’m ‘bout to lose it, lose it).”
All in all, “Crash Out” is another fun one from Tinashe. Does she ever miss? No. And even if she did, she hits with this confident, hard-nosed, and unapologetic banger.

18. Tove Lo, “DNH”
ESTRUS » Pretty Swede Records » 2026
“DNH” is a vibe, PERIODT. First, the colorful, electrifying synths catch the ear. Beyond its expert production, the song is melodious from the get-go. Adding another layer of excellence are memorable lyrics. “I promise I love you and this isn’t an attack,” Tove Lo sings in the brief first verse, and concludes, “At the end of the night, I’m the one holding your hair back.” She delivers a strong vocal performance, once where you buy what she sells. Of course, it should come as no surprise that the chorus is the crème de la crème:
“You’re drunk and horny in the crowd
You need attention, let your tears come down
You crying harder kick us out
You’re still my best friend when you ruin my night.”
Even so, both verses are sweet, too! And the pre-chorus? Not too shabby! “‘Cause I came here to dance, but you’re changing my plans / Now I’m stuck in the corner sober.” All told, “DNH” marks another winner for Tove Lo, who never fails to release compelling bops. Although it has a short runtime, it checks off all the boxes.

19. Troye Sivan, “She’s the Best”
She’s the Best » Tokky’s Music, LLC / Interscope Records » 2026
“She’s the Best” features vibrant production, including assertive drums, programming, and ear-catching keys and synths. Exuberant, this ode to women is set in a major key. One of the things that will be off-putting to some is the monotone talk-singing. This is a clear change of pace from Troye Sivan. Even with minimal vocal inflection, personally, I don’t find his delivery boring. The songwriting is intriguing from the get-go, making you listen intently to what he’s saying. See the Exhibit from verse one:
“She’s walkin’ down the street with her little thin cigarette
Great smile and a cum stain on her dress
DJs from Wednesday to Monday
Don’t ask, she’s not taking any fucking requests.”
“Cigarette?” “Cum stain?” No “fucking requests?” A lot is happening halfway through the first verse. The back half of the second verse is quite alluring: “Pretty, funny, can fight / She always knew she had something special in-inside / She takes down an incel on the internet / When she needs just a little unwind.” Word. Sivan does sing during the chorus (“That girl, that girl…”) before speaking, “She’s the best.” I love the background vocals, performed by Charli xcx, that appear most prominently toward the end: “She’s the heartbeat / She’s the best / She’s the –, she’s the / She’s the best.” Sivan ascends an octave in the chorus near the end, which is a welcome contrast. The musical accompaniment goes H.A.M. at the end, with some punk energy. Charli’s vocals return, in all their glory. “She’s the Best” may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but I believe it’s a captivating song from a fearless artist who isn’t afraid to try new things.

20. Wyatt Flores, “Hate Myself”
Scared of Heights » OEG Records, LLC / Island Records » 2026
“Hate Myself” commences with bright rhythmic guitars. Wyatt Flores delivers lovely, easygoing vocals. He doesn’t do too much during the first verse, even though he wishes “Wish you woulda cheated / Wish you woulda stabbed me in my back.” Flores adds a bit more punch to the chorus, with more twang. Melodic throughout, the chorus is the crème de la crème; it’s incredibly tuneful and memorable lyrically:
“Baby, I wish I could hate you like I hate myself for lettin’ you go
I hope that you’re losin’ sleep and dealin’ with the same kinda lonely nights
I’m drinkin’ through these bottles of memories
I know it ain’t your fault, so I take it out on me
Baby, I wish I could hate you like I hate myself for lettin’ you go.”
As the record progresses, it grows more dynamic, including more assertive vocals by Flores. In the second verse, he continues to regret leaving her and can’t get her off his mind (“But I know you’re down in Dallas staying far away from me / I swear I’m seeing things”). Heartbroken songs never get old. Wyatt Flores delivers a good one with “Hate Myself”.
