“Baby, you know, you could’ve been my baby / You know, you could’ve been my favorite / Lover and I, you goin’ so far.”
Word. Versatile Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter DESTIN CONRAD has been on a tear in 2026. This tear leads up to his reggae album, ROADRUNNER. “FAVORITE LOVER” marks another satisfying moment with CONRAD tapping into his roots. It is the second track and third single from the LP.

“FAVORITE LOVER,” like “NERVOUS” and “I LOVE YOUR BODY”, benefits from well-rounded production. Sleek but relatively minimal, the sounds that stand out most are the sickening groove and a robust bass line. Harmonically, the music is uncomplicated, but that’s no rub – it works out well, without a hitch. As always, the handsome and talented DESTIN CONRAD brings it. He delivers a fabulous vocal performance, characterized by his beautiful, pure tone. Making things even more ear-catching are the rhythmic, tuneful melodies and unforgettable lyrics that embrace Jamaican Patois. The chorus, excerpted earlier, is the crème de la crème – the section to beat. Even so, the verses (one is bridge-like) and refrain are alluring too.  Confident, DESTIN asserts in the first verse, “Know it’s hard to resist, me up in these Prada jeans.” In the refrain, the desire is pronounced: “Want you in my room/ Dim the lights / Set the vibes / Leave in the mornin’.” And that second verse/bridge: “Grip on it (Grip) / Release me (Ha)/… I know that I’m sexy, like I love you (Mm) / Oh did he say, ‘I love you,’ under covers?” Once again, DESTIN CONRAD gives listeners an irresistibly delicious treat with “FAVORITE LOVER”. ROADRUNNER here we come!
