KATSEYE, Animal [📷: HYBE UMG LLC]Girl group KATSEYE drops another infectious pop banger with “Animal,” the second track from their third EP, WILD.

“Don’t wanna be on a schedule, you’re on your own time.”
Ooh-wee! Post “PINKY UP”, KATSEYE switches from that fifth finger to an animal (“You move like an animal”)! “Animal” is the second track on the group’s third EP, WILD, arriving August 14, 2026.  “Animal” was written by Ed Sheeran, Johnny McDaid, Blake Slatkin, and Omer Fedi. Fedi and Slatkin also produced it.

“Animal” is anchored by a mean groove.  There is no way that some part of the body doesn’t move.  The rhythmic guitar fits in perfectly, appearing during the unforgettable chorus (more on that later). All in all, the production is sleek, perfectly exemplifying the modern pop sound.  The girls bring it with energetic vocal performances filled with personality. Tuneful melodies and memorable lyrics don’t hurt their cause either. Like many boy/girl groups, the parts are divided throughout the song. Megan (who sang the lyric excerpted earlier) and Yoonchae perform the first verse.  Lara sings the pre-chorus, where she asserts, “You make the light and the shadows collide / Your body gets twisted and tangled in mine.” Daniela and Sophia split the centerpiece, the chorus, where, “Nobody knows you’re outta control / But I see a side behind the closed doors / They get a glimpse here on the dance floor / You move like an animal.” Woo! Daniela and Yoonchae take on the second verse this go-round, with Lara holding it down on the pre-chorus, once more. Sophia and Lara perform the second iteration of the chorus. Sophia performs the bridge (“I’m gettin’ overwhelmed / R-r-r-right now / Want you to give it to me / All night long”), while Yoonchae, Megan, Sophia, and Lara split the final chorus. “Animal” is another brief song by KATSEYE, and yet, it’s another irresistible one, too.
