Tinashe, Crash Out | Song Review

R&B/pop singer-songwriter Tinashe brings the heat with her confident, hard-nosed, and unapologetic banger “Crash Out.” 

Well, that’s not ideal, Tinashe (Tinashe Jorgensen Kachingwe), but girl, the song “Crash Out” – it kicks ass and takes names! “Crash Out” is the second single (“Too Easy” was the first) from her eighth studio album, Popstar, arriving September 25, 2026. Tinashe, Zikai, Bobby Raps, and producer Couros wrote this savory pop banger. Yum, yum!

“Crash Out” shines from the get-go.  The tight beat provides a mighty anchor. The song thrives off its vibrant electronic pop production (striking synths, etc.). The star of the show is Tinashe, who brings mad attitude to her performance. She’s confident asf! The attitude also includes some salty, profane language: “All these motherfuckers ‘bout to set me off (Set me off) / I swear, no, I’m not the one,” and “I don’t wanna be a good girl (I don’t wanna be a good girl) / I don’t wanna be nice, fuck being polite.” Ooh-wee! D-d-damn gurl!  Throughout, “Crash Out” features rhythmic, melodic lines.  Upping the ante, at select moments, are lovely, harmonized vocals. The memorable, incredibly tuneful chorus is the section to beat, crash out and all:

“Think I’m ‘bout to lose it (Lose it), I don’t even care no more (Care no more)

I been on some cool shit (Uh, uh), but I’m ‘bout to lose control (Lose control)

I’m about to crash out, every time I go outside (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

Think I’m ‘bout to lose it (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

(Think I’m ‘bout to lose it, lose it).”

All in all, “Crash Out” is another fun one from Tinashe. Does she ever miss? No. And even if she did, she hits with this confident, hard-nosed, and unapologetic banger.
