Canadian rapper bbno$ brings plenty of attitude, fun, and utter silliness on his brief but potent single, “burger.”
Like many a bbno$ song, “burger” is a piece of work. It begins with an intro that gasses the rapper up: “In this side of the ring, we got bbno$ / Five foot ten, two hundred and fifteen pounds of pure goddamn muscle / Show ‘em what you got, Baby, come on.” Cute! Meanwhile, the musical accompaniment is lush, led by strings, and favors an old-school soul sample. After the intro, bbno$ gets to work, backed by a vibrant backdrop, including a punchy beat. The signature boisterous and electrifying synths are synth-ing as well, solidifying the electronic rap vibes we’re accustomed to from Baby. He delivers his usual brand of assertive rhymes, oozing with personality. As usual, the lyrics are adventurous, outlandish, and often NSFW. In the first verse, he asserts that “Jungkook dancin’ on my real shit / I’m off my ship for the Stray Kids / My girlfriend’s lookin’ like Felix.” In the second verse, he gets personal: “Real small dick, got a real big brain / And that post-nut clarity keep me sane.” Oh, and for good measure: “Supercalifragilistic, certified and bussalicious / Yes, I got a thousand bitches, but they still won’t let me finish.” Bbno$ also gives us a fun pre-chorus (composed of “Straight Robitussin”) and of course, the crème de la crème, the chorus:
“Buss it (Buss it, bu-bu-buss it, I like it when you bu-bu-buss it)
Buss it, bu-bu-buss it, I like it when you bu-bu-buss it
Buss it”
All in all, “burger” is a brief but ultra-entertaining song from bbno$. It’s silly and irreverent, but we wouldn’t have it any other way from our Canadian standout.
