As for Jake Minch, he informed us, “It sticks to your fingers and your clothes.” Noted, Jake. True dat, Megan Skiendiel! The KATSEYE vocalist adds, “I’m gonna make out with my new bestest friends / I wanna live large, right before it all burns down.” Um, sure – you do you, boo! The carefree lyrics appear in the pop group’s single, “PINKY UP”. “PINKY UP” was written by Sorana, dwilly, Justin Tranter, Skyler Stonestreet, and Magsy. dwilly, “hitman” Bang, and FRANTS produced it.

Lara performs the introduction on “PINKY UP,” which precedes the simple but infectious chorus: “Pinky up, up / Pink up, up /… Put this pinky up.” Woo! Different members of the group perform the unforgettable refrain throughout. Megan, Daniela Avanzini, and Yoonchae Jeung perform the first verse, which features an unforgettable lyric by Daniela: “Go hard like we’re robbin’ the Louvre.” I felt that! Lara, Sophia Laforteza, and Megan perform the first pre-chorus. Later, four members of KATSEYE see action in the unapologetic second verse. “Us against the world, shaking ass in the parking lot,” Daniela asserts, and continues, “If we get arrested, haha, baby, laugh it off.” Yoonchae and Megan get philosophical – it’s giving Socrates! “PINKY UP” should not be overanalyzed, though. This is a brief, energetic, and highly enjoyable electro-pop joint. It slaps thanks to its vibrant production, quick pace, energetic vocals, tuneful melodies, and carefree theme and lyrics.

2. Boy Throb, “Finger”

Woo-hoo! And thus begins “Finger”, the debut [original] single by Boy Throb. Is Boy Throb a legitimate boy band? According to the band, yes, they are. Others have been skeptical, but “Finger” shows the collective’s potential. After all, bubblegum is a part of the equation, right? Right! Evan Papier, Anthony Key, Zachary Sobania, and Darshan Magdum, the members of the boy band, wrote “Finger.” Boy Throb collectively produced it.

There is a lot to like about “Finger.” It begins with that dramatic, layered vocal intro, establishing Boy Throb! It continues with an awesome groove and a cool, mellow backdrop. For whatever criticism they’ve received, on “Finger,” Boy Throb sounds like a boy band through and through. Evan Papier shines with most of the vocals on the first verse and pre-chorus. He sounds sweet and incredibly relaxed. He’s also confident, aspiring for big things: “Everyone’s got something to say / But, baby, they’re just jealous /… Honestly, I’m not even fazed / ‘Cause when I win the Grammy, I’ll make sure to say ‘thanks.’” Papier’s pre-chorus is a vibe, too, where “It’s fire, I’m going higher and higher.” Zach Sobania brings vocal contrast during the second verse. His voice is lower, contrasting Evan’s bright, boyish lead vocals from the first verse. “If you ever feel like you do not belong,” he sings, “Newsflash, baby, you are not right, you are wrong.” Word. The chorus, performed by Anthony Key, with Darshan Magdum entering the mix on the second go-round, is infectious – simply irresistible!

Slay, Boy Throb, slay! Adding to the brilliance of “Finger” is a memorable Indian music riff that precedes a timely modulation near the end. This bubblegum pop record is a winner!

3. Beats By AI, “They Fingered My Stink”

Oh, boy… What exactly transpired in that corner? After some moonshine, “They bent me over / Said that booty’s lookin’ tight / They fingered my stink…” Gah-day-um 😳! Beats By AI dropped an outlandish, NSFW country tune with “They Fingered My Stink”, which lasts just a minute and a half. That is long enough for a man to be violated by multiple men… “They Fingered My Stink” is focused on a hole – a man’s ‘enticing’ tight, pink asshole. The nameless victim of drunken, finger-banging touts the opening in his tush: “Oh lord my stink is so damn pink / And fingers love to blast that thing.” He adds, “Georgia boys especially / Wanna watch me drink and make it wink.” He warns us, “Yeah, Georgia Boys love a tight-ass stinker / And when they smell one, they warm up the fingers,” adding “So, maybe next time I should spare my cheeks / And never let a Georgia boy near my stink.” In case you live under a rock and didn’t catch the drift, post-anal sexual experiences, soreness is to be expected. Our protagonist’s butt is sore since, “they blasted my cheeks / My knees were so weak / They fingered my stink for an hour at least / I was cutting the cheese, they were loving that thing.” “They Fingered My Stink” is one of the most outlandish and unhinged songs I have heard in some time. Making this gay-ass (🤭) country record even wackier is the AI-generated cover art. The victim is frightened by those smiling Georgia Boys who are enjoying his stink far too much. Oh, brother 😶!

4. Jake Minch, “Fingers and Clothes”

“Said it sticks to your fingers and your clothes / And you think we don’t know, but we all know.”

What sticks to your fingers and your clothes, Jake Minch? Cigarettes… or at least the smell. Our talented Connecticut-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter used to smoke those addictive cancer sticks but eventually quit. But even when he’d say he’d quit and hadn’t yet, the smell was a dead giveaway. “Fingers and Clothes” is the fourth track from his 2025 debut album, George. “Fingers and Clothes” was written by Minch and Andy Seltzer. Tony Berg produced it.

“Fingers and Clothes” commences with an enigmatic instrumental introduction, featuring sustained pump organ and rhythmic acoustic guitar. The record features folk music accompaniment including keyboards, acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, percussion, and pump organ. Jake Minch delivers beautiful vocals. He sings with incredible sincerity. The melodies are memorable, while the lyrics keep the same energy. The songwriting is honest, poetic, and thoughtful. “I was learning what addiction is,” Minch sings in the second verse, and continues, “We didn’t know what we were doing then, oh / But I was hanging on your fingers and your clothes.” The chorus, partially excerpted earlier, is the crowning achievement. Minch continues:

“Tell me where your mind goes

Four years and you’re still not over it

Being 16 and stealing mom’s cigarettes

But I feel it every time I smoke.”

The bridge distinguishes itself from the verses and chorus. Here, Minch seems to discuss his both his addiction to cigarettes, as well as the need for the love of his partner. “Please, there’s nothing after you,” he sings, and concludes, “There’s nothing after this.” All told, “Fingers and Clothes” is a fantastic song. It feels like Jake Minch poured his heart and soul into this one.

5. Lauren Spencer Smith, “Fingers Crossed”

“When you said you loved me / Well, you must’ve had your fingers crossed.”

Woo! Canadian singer-songwriter Lauren Spencer Smith did her big one with “Fingers Crossed”. The song was released as a single in 2022. It appears as the fourth track on her 2023 debut album, Mirror. As Smith’s biggest hit to date, it peaked at number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was certified multiplatinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in March 2026. “Fingers Crossed” was written by Smith, Fransisca Hall, and producer T.I Jakke.

On “Fingers Crossed,” Lauren Spencer Smith revisits a former relationship. Some of the moments were good, referenced in the first verse (“Made me breakfast in the mornin’ / When you got home from work”). Others, not so much. In the second verse, she remembers “Old love songs we used to play,” and adds, “Funny, now I hate you.” Oh, snap! Regretfully, in the third verse, she admits, “Shoulda paid attention to my friends / Tellin’ me how bad it’s gonna end.” The centerpiece is the chorus, where Smith asserts:

“I want all the tears back that I cried

All the hours spent givin’ advice on how to write your songs

All you did was prove me wrong

When you said you loved me

Well, you must’ve had your fingers crossed.”

So, the love was all a lie? That’s messed up from her ex-lover’s perspective! What’s not messed up is the pop bop that is “Fingers Crossed”. Lauren Spencer Smith sings beautifully and powerfully, bringing the tuneful melodies and reminiscent lyrics to life like a champ. T.I Jakke gives Smith a radiant backdrop to sing over, even if she’s regretful about engaging with her ex. Even if Smith never fails to secure another hit like this one, she’s cemented herself in pop history with this gem.
