Alex Warren, WILDCHILD [📷: Atlantic Recording Corporation]“RESCUER” is a pleasant Alex Warren pop song but not a game-changing or particularly memorable one.

“Cover my tracks, I can’t bear to go back to the place I was before,”
Alex Warren sings, and continues, “Took all the last of the strength that I had to collapse right at your door.” Word. The Grammy-nominated pop singer-songwriter has been prolific in 2026. Ahead of his sophomore album, WILDCHILD, he released singles “FEVER DREAM”, “FINE PLACE TO DIE”, “PASSENGER”, and the song at hand, “RESCUER”. “RESCUER” is the fourth track from WILDCHILD. Warren, CAL, Mags Duval, and producer Adam Yaron wrote it.

“RESCUER” commences with rhythmic plucked/strummed strings. This is sort of a familiar sound for Warren… and many pop artists and songs, honestly. It works, however; no harm, no foul. Alex delivers well-rounded vocals, singing with a beautiful tone. All in all, the melodies are tuneful, which is a pro. The first verse, excerpted above, is more restrained. The chorus is tuneful:

“You kissed me to life, my rescuer

Everything in this world broke my heart ‘til you broke the curse.”

Woo! Notably, it’s preceded by the pre-chorus and followed by the post-chorus. The second verse packs more of a punch, with expanded instrumentation and more punch from Alex: “All my life was carved in stone / How’d you find my long lost soul?” Likewise, the second chorus is much more spirited; the strings perform some ear-catching riffs. The bridge is busy, filled with intensity.

“Oh, out of exile, into your hands

Your arms are my promised land

Waking me up, wrecking my plans

Change the fate of.”

By the end, the song finally diminishes – it comes back down to earth. All in all, “RESCUER” is another pleasant Alex Warren song. Is it game-changing or truly memorable? Nope. It’s more middle of the road, which is sort of where Warren lies as an artist. It’s not bad in the least, but there have been more distinct, flavorful pop records.
