Pop singer-songwriter Alex Warren touts impenetrable, unbreakable love despite a world on fire in his moving, sincere single, “FINE PLACE TO DIE.”
Warren is in full-on sincerity mode. He seems like a heart-on-the-sleeve type of fella. Alarmed by potential life-changing traumatic events, Alex Warren, dedicated to his bae, asserts, “But here in your arms / Seems like a fine place to die.” Woo! In the second verse, Warren shouts his love from the mountaintops… essentially. “Love me like a scandal, wreck me like a wave / Take me back to the place I remember,” he sings, and continues, “We could light a candle, put a record on / ‘Til we turn into ashes and embers.” The chorus, the crème de la crème, sums up the power of their bond. Even with the world on fire, “Take my body, and I’ll be / the soul you come crashing into.” Aww. The bridge, which distinguishes itself from everything else, continues to promote a seemingly unbreakable union. This section finds him bringing things down before building them back up to grand heights. Warren sings beautifully throughout “FINE PLACE TO DIE”; you buy what he’s singing, given his authenticity and radiance. Also, amplifying the listening experience is the cinematic, dramatic backdrop. The strings are divine, the piano is warm, while the beat hits you right in the chest with its syncopated rhythms. Ultimately, it’s another pleasant song and thoughtful performance by Alex Warren. He even pushes his voice more towards the end, which is a win.
