~ Album Reviews 💿 ~

Album reviews tend to follow a track-by-track format, commencing with an intro paragraph comprised of background information, and concluding paragraph that wraps things up. Also, GEMS 💎 – the best, highly recommended tracks – are selected at the end of each review. It should not come as a surprise to see the analysis run > 1000 words.

Despite being brief, The Black Keys pack quite a punch on “Eagle Birds,” the second single from the highly-anticipated album, “Let’s Rock.”

Marshmello, Light it Up | Track Review

Marshmello taps Tyga and Chris Brown for the incredibly short, ‘West Coast-tinged sex banger,’ “Light it Up.” As a record, ‘it is what it is.’

Lauv, Drugs & The Internet | Track Review 🎵

Rising pop musician Lauv shares his experiences with anxiety, depression, and the plight of fame on his superb new single, “Drugs & The Internet.”

YG, Stop Snitchin | Track Review

YG makes his point on “Stop Snitchin,” but the song itself and his overall argument are strengthened by the accompanying music video.

Taylor Swift, ME! | Track Review 🎵

Multi-Grammy winning pop superstar Taylor Swift returns with an infectious, surefire hit single, “ME!” Featuring Panic! At the Disco frontman, Brendon Urie.

Tyga, Goddamn | Track Review

Tyga keeps it incredibly ‘classy’ (said no one ever) on his explicitly-titled single, “Goddamn.” His focus? His drip and sex.

Thomas Rhett, Remember You Young | Track Review

Country musician Thomas Rhett shines on the reflective, thoughtful ballad “Remember You Young,” the fourth advance single from ‘Center Point Road.’

French Montana, Slide | Track Review

French Montana, assisted by Blueface and Lil TJay, assemble a respectable banger with “Slide,” yet fail to be innovative or transcendent in the process.

Lil Dicky, Earth | Track Review 🎵

Lil Dicky returns with a ridiculous, yet entertaining single about Earth called “Earth.” He’s assisted by numerous musicians & celebrities.

Madonna, Medellín | Track Review

Madonna taps Maluma for a surprising Latin-pop single, “Medellín,” which serves as the promo single from her 14th studio album, ‘Madame X’ (June 14, 2019).
