Our Monthy Music Shopping list for March 2018 is led by new projects courtesy of Tory Lanez, The Neighbourhood, Jack White, and Kacey Musgraves. 

March 2018 brings another crop of new music releases.  While there is a lot of promise, arguably, there are no surefire blockbusters (as of press time).  Nonetheless, some of the notable highlights include new projects by Tory Lanez, The Neighbourhood, Jack White, and Kacey Musgraves.

Canadian singer-rapper Tory Lanez returns with his sophomore album, Memories Don’t Die.  Memories Don’t Die arrives less than two years after his debut, I Told You.  Singles issued in advance of the album include “Shooters”, “Skrt Skrt”, “Real Thing” (featuring Future), and “B.I.D.”

2. Tech N9ne, Planet

Strange Music

Ever-prolific, Kansas City rapper Tech N9ne returns with Planet, the follow-up to his December 2016 album, The Storm. Comprised of 19 tracks, singles “Drink Up,” “Don’t Nobody Want None” and “Bad JuJu” arrived in advance of the project.

3. Andrew W.K., You’re Not Alone

After an extended hiatus, rocker Andrew W.K. returns with a new project, You’re Not Alone. Comprised of 16 tracks, singles “Music is Worth Living For” and “Ever Again” arrived in advance of the project.

The Neighbourhood is back! After releasing two five-song EPs – Hard (2017) and To Imagine (2018) – the band is dropping their third full-length album.  That third, full-length album, simply titled The Neighbourhood, arrives March 9, 2018.  All 10 songs from the EPs appear on the deluxe edition of the album, which runs 18 tracks deep. Also, among the 18 tracks, is 2017 single “Scary Love”, as well as promo single, “Void.”

2. Jake Miller, Silver Lining

Less than a year removed from 2:00am in LA, Jake Miller is back with Silver Lining. Silver Lining is comprised of 14 tracks, including promo single “The Girl That’s Underneath” featuring Jabbar Hakeem.

Canadian rock band Three Days Grace returns after a three-year hiatus with new album, Outsider.  Comprised of 12 tracks, singles “The Mountain” and “I Am an Outsider” arrived in advance of the project.

British heavy metal vets Judas Priest returns with FIREPOWER, their first new album in two years (Battle Cry, 2016).  Comprised of 14 tracks, singles “Firepower” and “Lightning Strike” were released in advance of FIREPOWER.

5. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Tearing at the Seams

Following the success of single “S.O.B.” (Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, 2015), Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats returns with Tearing at the Seams.  Comprised of 14 tracks in its deluxe edition, singles “Hey Mama”, “Coolin’ Out” (featuring Lucius), and “You Worry Me” were released in advance of the project.

The Decemberists return with their first new album since 2015, I’ll Be Your Girl.  Comprised of 11 tracks, single “Severed” arrived in advance of the project.

4. Snoop Dogg, Snoop Dogg Presents Bible of Love

Shockingly, rapper Snoop Dogg is releasing a gospel album: Snoop Dogg Presents Bible of Love.  The ever-restless musician enlists a number of guests to help him praise the Most High. Among singles issued in advance of the 32-track project is “Words Are Few”, a soulful, seven-and-a-half-minute joint (no pun intended) featuring B Slade.
