Scanning the Charts isn’t extensive, but rather short and sweet.  This week, we list 8 observations from the Billboard 200 ,  and 7 observations from the Billboard Hot 100 , with Yo Gotti earning the highest debut on the Billboard 200.

Encanto spends a fifth week atop the Billboard 200. That is all. NEXT!

Memphis rapper Yo Gotti debuts at no. 3 with CM10: Free Game. 

Mitski earns her highest debut on the Billboard 200. Laurel Hell debuts at no. 5, becoming a historic bow for record label Dead Oceans.

Korn debuts modestly on the Billboard 200.  Requiem launches at no. 14.

2 Chainz earns a top-25 debut with Dope Don’t Sell Itself (no. 23).

Upchurch debuts at no. 101 on the Billboard 200 with People’s Champ.

If you thought Korn and 2 Chainz debuted modestly, you should see how Bastille underperformed.  Give Me the Future has little future on the Billboard 200, judging by the tepid no. 110 debut. Yikes!

Animal Collective debuts at no. 152 with Time Skiffs.

Billboard Hot 100  

“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” spends a third week at no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby debut at no. 2 on the Hot 100 with “Do We Have a Problem?”.

Justin Bieber hits the top-10 with “Ghost” which ascends from no. 12 to no. 9.

A pair of posthumous singles debut on the Hot 100. “Don’t Play That” by King Von (& 21 Savage) debuts at no. 40 while “Cigarettes” by Juice WRLD bows at no. 43.

Teenage pop singer Tate McRae launches at no. 52 with “She’s All I Wanna Be”. 

Machine Gun Kelly and WILLOW debut at no. 77 with the sketchy single, “Emo Girl”.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers comeback single, “Black Summer” debuts at no. 78.
