Nicki Minaj returns, assisted by ubiquitous rapper Lil Baby on the confident banger, โDo We Have a Problem?โ
โT
ell โem my niรฑa, my bitch, she a rider / I got a shooter, and I got a driver.โ Woo, sheโs back! ๐ Nicki Minaj, that is! Minaj teams up with fellow ๐ Grammy-nominated rapper, ๐ Lil Baby on her first, brand-new single in years (!), ๐ต โDo We Have a Problem?โ Does โDo We Have a Problem?โ find the queen reclaiming her crown? F#$k around and find outโฆ or, just continue reading!โDo We Have a Problem?โ is enigmatic sounding at the onset. It commences with a brief, ย spoken-word intro by Nicki (โI just told P, โThis really niggasโ worst nightmare, man / They donโt wanna see Lil Baby with the Barbieโโ). Soon enough, the production (๐ Papi Yerr) settles in, and Minaj offers up a melodic chorus (excerpted above), which grows on you with later iterations:
โTell โem my niรฑa, my bitch, she a rider
I got a shooter, and I got a driver
They want that heat, Iโm the only provider
Little bad foreign bitch, word to Fivio
Niggas know the vibe, thatโs word to Five, yo
Beef, we โbout to resolve, yo
Pull up on a opp, do we have a problem?โ
After showing off the gift of melody on the chorus, Minaj serves up un-pitched, tough, โgives no fucksโ rhymes in the first verse.ย She shouts out Pop Smoke and Juice WRLD, brags about drip, and is willing to do whatever โto get an opp back.โ Lil Baby arrives in the second verse, providing a contrast. His verse settles in a bit more, though maybe itโs the fact that by this time, the listener has a better feel for the song.ย Like Minaj, Baby is nothing short of confident and of course, dripped-out.ย Minaj later drops a third verse, boasting more of the same.
Final Thoughts ๐ญ
So, is ๐ต โDo We Have a Problem?โ a banger? For the most part, yes. ย Both Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby bring toughness.ย That said, I find the track to be a bit odd. I wouldnโt call it surefire, but thereโs some punch here, nonetheless.
