Are you ready to beam with P-R-I-D-E? Beaming with Pride highlights songs by LGBTQ musicians and allies, offering background, analysis, and discussion of the decadent bops served up. All genres are welcome, and both classics and new songs are recognized. So, without further ado, in the 61st  edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “Før Vi Går Hjem” performed by Søren Torpegaard Lund.

“Kys mig, tag mit hjerte, knus det igen / Men please sig, den her aften aldrig vil ende.”
Noted… though it would make more sense translated into my native language, English: “Kiss me, take my heart, break it again / But please tell me that this night will never end.” UNDERSTOOD! The openly gay, multifaceted artist Søren Torpegaard Lund repped his native Denmark 🇩🇰  in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with “Før Vi Går Hjem”.  What does that mean in English? Before We Go Home. “Før Vi Går Hjem” was written by Torpegaard Lund, Valdermar Littauer Bendixen, Thomas Meilstrup, and Clara Sofie Fabricius. Valdermar Littauer Bendixen also produced it.

Thematically on “Før Vi Går Hjem,” Søren Torpegaard Lund can’t seem to resist this fella – he’s taken. In the first verse, he asserts, “Min krop den skriger / Ka’ du høre den? [My body is screaming / Can you hear it?]” He follows up in the second, singing, “Du er så syrlig / Du smelter på min tunge / Helt ustyrlig / Jeg’ så freaking dum [You are so sour / You’re melting on my tongue / Completely uncontrollable / I’m so freaking dumb].” Note: remember “Helt ustyrlig / Jeg’ så freaking dum” for later. In the pre-chorus, excerpted earlier, we hear the words kiss, heart, and a mention of a never-ending night.  Oh, it’s on like Donkey Kong! The chorus is the crème de la crème, where the passion reaches a fever pitch:

“We let the night stand in flames and forget ourselves

Holding onto each other until we burn to death

Forgetting that we wake up and regret it again

Before we go, before we go, before we go, before we go home.”

Beyond two consecutive verses, the pre-chorus, and chorus, there is also a third verse, written similarly to the first two, and a bridge, based on the lyrics from the pre-chorus.  Throughout Før Vi Går Hjem, Søren Torpegaard Lund sings beautifully, showing off his ripe, youthful tenor.  He packs a mean punch when he ascends to the highest of notes 💪. Beyond a radiant performance with top-rate vocal production to match, the overall production is fire.  This is a sleekly produced cut from start to finish. Vibrant keys and synths, a pummeling beat, and some intensifying strings make this an utterly satisfying and sublime Danish pop song.  It’s sensual, without crossing the lines… well, there is a naughty version 😈 (“Helt ustyrlig / Jeg’ så fucking dum [Totally out of control / I’m so fucking stupid]” ). Naughty, yes, but that f-bomb isn’t even used sexually 😏.
