In the 75th edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “DOG SAY?” performed by queer black pop artist BRONZE AVERY.
Are you ready to beam with P-R-I-D-E? Beaming with Pride highlights songs by LGBTQ musicians and allies, offering background, analysis, and discussion of the decadent bops served up. All genres are welcome, and both classics and new songs are recognized. So, without further ado, in the 75th edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “DOG SAY?” performed by BRONZE AVERY.
“DOG SAY?” is short but incredibly sweet. The production is sleek, with a solid beat, robust bass line, rhythmic guitar, and colorful keys. The handsome and talented BRONZE AVERY sings enthusiastically, showing off that ripe tenor to the fullest. He brings personality, personality, personality. Also, enhancing “DOG SAY?” are pitch-shifted vocals (“What’s on top of your mouth / What do a dog say?”). The song begins with the centerpiece, the chorus:
“My name’s on top of your mouth
You’re barking up the right house
All you wanna do is play
What do a dog say?”
As “DOG SAY?” continues, clearly BRONZE AVERY can’t leave this ‘dog’ alone, even though he should. I mean, we are talking about man’s best friend, after all. See the second verse: “Got / My girlfriend on the line / She said / ‘Baby, what you’re doing you should leave him behind’ / I said / ‘Ain’t no way when he looks this fine today.’” There you have it! Not only does the heart want what it wants, but so does the body. Can I get a woof-woof?! All in all, “DOG SAY?” is another surefire winner from BRONZE AVERY. He brings great vocals, tuneful melodies, memorable lyrics, and superb production work to the track.
