“Send another weak, ‘I’m sorry,’ unforgivable as always.”
Oh, snap! Slayyyter (Catherine Garner) doesn’t stop there. She gives us another valuable piece of information we need to know about “brand new chanel$” – not to be confused with “BEAT UP CHANEL$”: “I know you had seen somebody / Was it worth causing all my darkest days?” One word: CHEATING.  “Brand new chanel$” is expected to appear on her next album, a companion LP to WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, wor$t man in America. Slayyyter composed the song alongside producers Austin Corona and Wyatt Bernard.

“Brand new chanel$” commences with an enigmatic intro. Slayyyter brings smooth vocals when she enters, accompanied by rhythmic guitar. Eventually, a danceable beat enters, providing a mighty anchor. As “brand new chanel$” develops, Slayyyter digs in more, bringing more oomph and punch. There are plenty of memorable lyrics. “I, I bet she rock brand-new Chanels / What a chop, I cut you off and get away, yeah,” she sings in the pre-chorus, and adds, “Ah, in my apartment, my clothes in the corner / Why’d you let her stay the night?” The crème de la crème is the chorus:

“I’m holding it alone, just for tonight

I wonder if you got her in your room

I call you on the phone to start a fight

I know what you do, I see how you move

But I’m still here standing still.”

Oh, snap! The unforgettable lyrics don’t stop there, either! “Found out that you tried to kill me / Right before my most important day,” she asserts in the eyebrow-raising second verse, and continues, “Tell me why’d you ever bring her / In my home while I was so far away?”  That is some shit, indeed! Oh, and the outro is a doozy, too, where, “He want sex, money, bitches and to lie through his teeth /Getting head, white and blue if you know what I mean…” Ooh-wee! While I’d argue “brand new chanel$” is a bit all over the place, Slayyyter makes her point loud and clear lyrically.  Also, she sings expressively – you buy what she’s selling. It’s not nearly as fun as “CRANK” or “OLD TECHNOLOGY”, but, all in all, it’s another winner.
