Ah, bring on Midnight Heat 🕛 🔥! Wait – it is not usually hot at midnight! Well, it is steaming hot 🥵 at midnight when it comes to this naughty, innuendo and sex-laden column featuring songs intended for nighttime. Yeah, we are talking about that after dark, bedroom boom $hi†, ya dig? These unapologetic records often raises both eyebrows and temperature alike. Woo! In the 65th edition of Midnight Heat (2023), we explore the naughty, sexy vibes behind, 🎵 “Dunno” by 🎙 Mac Miller.

It’s self-explanatory, right? The sex was so good – nearly worth missing a flight! The thing is this record from 💿 Swimming wasn’t about a current relationship but rather a previous one.  And, if you track celebrity relationships, it subject seems to be Miller’s ex-girlfriend, 🎙 Ariana Grande. No, she’s never explicitly mentioned, but, the lyrics strongly suggest this song is about her. Sure, the fuckin’ part is the most eyebrow raising and risqué, but Miller explores plenty of colorful memories, some of which aren’t NSFW.

“You was coughin’ when you hit my weed / But I’ve never seen you feel that free,” Miller raps, commenting about an experience associated more with him than his ex. In the chorus, he asserts, “Let’s get lost inside the cloud / And you, you don’t gotta work harder / I can calm you down.” Clouds of course, take on several meanings, connected to weed, escapism, and again, Ariana Grande, who has multiple connections with clouds. Bitmoji ImageIn the second verses, there are plenty of references to the relationship, with notable moments including “But I’m taking too long” (slow to act or respond), “I wanna hear your song” (metaphorical), and “Touch you one more time so I know you’re real.”  All told, Mac seems to have truly cared about Grande a lot, and while “I think we just might be alright” didn’t come to pass in terms of a relationship, it’s clear that he always had love for her.  Likewise, Grande has paid tribute to him many times following his untimely passing at just 26 in 2018, not long after Swimming was released. 🎵 “Dunno” is a special song, particularly revisiting Swimming five years later.
