“I’ve been off this love train for a while,”
Joyce Wrice sings, and continues, “But you can change my mind anytime.” Ooh-wee! On “Crack The Code”, it seems that the talented R&B singer-songwriter has found her person.  “Let emotions take us, I’m down to ride / I could do this with you every night,” she adds at the end of the second verse. “Crack The Code” was written by Wrice, Malik Ninety Five, Hadar Adora, Daniel Church, Dylan Frank, Mike Baretz, and Shae Jacobs. Malik Ninety Five, Baretz, and daedaePIVOT produced it.

“Crack The Code” features sleek production.  From the opening notes of the musical accompaniment, my thoughts are, this is how a contemporary R&B song is supposed to sound.  Beyond the marvelous backdrop, Joyce Wrice does her big one, vocally.  She delivers sexy, soulful, and sultry vocals. Singing expressively, Wrice masterfully brings the memorable lyrics and tuneful melodies to life. Thematically, “Crack The Code” is tried and true: it’s all about L-O-V-E, baby.  Even if the theme is familiar, it never grows old!  Wrice sells the fact that this lover got it right – cracked the code – superbly. The chorus is the crème de la crème, celebrating this true love:

“You make me feel so good-ood

You cracked the code

You got my soul

Had a feeling you would-ould

You cracked the code

You got me sold.”

In short, Joyce Wrice nails it on “Crack The Code”.  Awesome vocals, relatable and thoughtful songwriting, and vibrant production make this a must-have on any R&B playlist.
