Concrete Club Return With “People Like Us”

The guitar line has teeth. When Rowetta’s voice arrives, it’s overwhelming in the best way possible, a vocal performance that transforms what could have been a straightforward indie track into something with real presence and weight.
The drums and bass sync into this groove that gets under your skin, the kind of rhythm that makes you shift in your seat without thinking about it. The synths aren’t there for decoration either. They sit in the mix like they belong, adding texture without cluttering the space.
The song breathes when it needs to and hits hard when it counts. “People Like Us” is rooted in actual life stuff: the exhaustion of city living, nights that lose their shape, looking for solid ground when everything feels chaotic.
But the song doesn’t feel like a complaint. It feels like recognition. Like someone pointing at the room and saying, we’re all in this together. Having Rowetta step up as featured vocalist was the right call.
Her voice changes the dynamic completely, brings a dimension that lifts the whole track. Adding Jonny McGill on drums gives the record a fresh edge while keeping the Concrete Club sound intact. “People Like Us” is out now on all streaming platforms through Emu Bands. Put it on.
