SCANNING THE CHARTS is just what it says it is.Β  I, the quirky founder and do-it-all at The Musical Hype scans through the Billboard Charts and picks out things that catch my eye.Β  To reiterate what I said last week (BTS Tops Album & Song Charts), this column won’t be extensive, but rather short and sweet, keeping that πŸ’© moving.Β  This week, I picked out FIVE notable observations πŸ”Ž from the Billboard 200 πŸ“‰, Β and FOUR observations πŸ”Ž from the Billboard Hot 100 πŸ“‰, with πŸŽ™ Bad Bunny earning his first no. 1 album with πŸ’Ώ El Ultimo Tour del Mundo.Β

He’s earned his first no. 1 album with πŸ’Ώ El Ultimo Tour del Mundo, moving 116,000 units according to Keith Caulfield of Billboard.Β  El Ultimo Tour del Mundo becomes the β€˜first all-Spanish no. 1 album.’

πŸ’ πŸŽ™ Miley Cyrus earns the runner up spot on the Billboard 200 with πŸ’Ώ Plastic Hearts.Β  Plastic Hearts performs better than Cyrus’ previous album, πŸ’Ώ Younger Now, which settled for a no. 5 start with fewer units.

πŸ’ πŸŽ™ BTS sees πŸ’Ώ BE slip from no. 1 to no. 3 in its second week on Billboard 200. Hey, one week at no. 1 is better than none at all, right? Right!

πŸ’ Following πŸŽ™ Miley Cyrus’ πŸ’Ώ Plastic Hearts, the next highest debut on the chart hails from πŸŽ™ Rylo Rodriguez.Β  Rodriguez’s πŸ’Ώ G.I.H.F. (Goat in Human Form) launches at no. 37. Β It’s the final debut in the top quarter of the Billboard 200.

πŸ’ πŸŽ™ Juicy J didn’t have the best week as far as chart success is concerned.Β  πŸ’Ώ The Hustle Continues but does so only to the tune of a tepid no. 68 start.

πŸ’ πŸŽ™ Mariah Carey ascends from no. 14 to no. 2 with her former no. 1 Christmas gem, 🎡 β€œAll I Want for Christmas is You.” Also, worth noting, πŸŽ™ Bobby Helms reenters the top 10 with his beloved holiday classic, 🎡 β€œJingle Bell Rock” (ascends from no. 31 to no. 9).

πŸ’ πŸŽ™ Bad Bunny and πŸŽ™ Jhay Cortez ascend from no. 15 to no. 5 with their hit, 🎡 β€œDakiti,” which appears on Bunny’s aforementioned no. 1 album, πŸ’Ώ El Ultimo Tour del Mundo.

πŸ’ My favorite new country song (and sure to be your new favorite too), 🎡 β€œDicked Down in Dallas” by πŸŽ™ Trey Lewis, debuts at no. 65 on the Hot 100. Β That’s β€˜big.’
