ell, SCANNING THE CHARTS is just what it says it is.ย I, the quirky founder, and do-it-all at The Musical Hype scans through the Billboard Charts and picks out things that catch my eye. This column isnโt extensive, but rather short and sweet.ย This week, I picked out 8 notable observations from the Billboard 200 ๐, ย and 6 observations from the Billboard Hot 100 ๐, with ๐ Adele remaining no. 1 on the Billboard 200 while ๐ Juice WRLD debuts posthumously in the runner-up slot.Billboard 200 ๐
๐ญ ๐ Adele spends her fifth consecutive week atop the Billboard 200 with the unstoppable ๐ฟ 30. According to Keith Caulfield of Billboard, sheโs moved another 212,000 units this week!
๐ญ Rapper ๐ Roddy Ricch earns the highest debut on the Billboard 200. His sophomore album, ๐ฟ Live Life Fast, debuts at no. 4.ย His numbers โ 62,000 units โ are down โฌ from his 2019 debut, ๐ฟ Excuse Me for Being Antisocial, are down (no. 1, 101,000 units).
๐ญ After debuting in the runner-up slot last week, ๐ Juice WRLD sees ๐ฟ Fighting Demons spend a second week in the top-10, albeit it โฌ down 7 spots to no. 9.
๐ญ Comedian/singer ๐ Bo Burnham re-enters the Billboard 200 at no. 10 with ๐ฟ Inside (The Songs).ย The album has spent 22 weeks on the charts and peaked at no. 7.
๐ญ It hasnโt happened much in 2021, but country singer ๐ Morgan Wallen sees his double-platinum album, ๐ฟ Dangerous: The Double Album, slide outside of the top 10 (โฌ no. 6 to no. 12).
๐ญ K-pop collective ๐ NCT debut at no. 20 with ๐ฟ Universe: The 3rd Album, Neo Culture Technology (2021).ย
๐ญ After a so-so debut at no. 22, ๐ Rick Ross sees ๐ฟ Richer Than I Ever Been free fall to no. 124 in its second week. Like, day-ummm!
