1. Ari Lennox, “Pressure”
🎵 “Pressure” • 🏷 Dreamville / Roc Nation • 📅 2021
“Now I’m on top and now I’m ridin’ sky-high / Don’t need nobody, but I’ll take you down tonight.” Woo! 🎙 Ari Lennox is on fire on 🎵 “Pressure”, period. Her vocals are sassy and sexy – potent to the nth degree. The big draw is the personality she unleashes, in all its unrepentant sexiness. “So fine and spicy, baby, jump up on this (pressure) / I guess that’s why you like it baby, come and get this pressure,” she sings on the infectious chorus. Besides the chorus, Lennox ‘does the damn thing’ on the verse, proving she’s a surefire, bad chick. “Too fuckin’ hot for all these clothes anyways,” she confidently asserts, continuing, “My body drippin’, boy, but you gon’ have to wait / But when you get it, lick it like a candy cane.” Day-um! Clearly, the sex is through the roof, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Although painfully underrated, the R&B singer/songwriter is incredibly talented. The utterly sublime, steamy single was produced by 🎛 Jermaine Dupri, 🎛 Bryan-Michael Cox, and 🎛 Elite. Not only is Ari Lennox is fierce AF on “Pressure,” but so is the backing instrumental, which has a dash of old-school. “Pressure” ranks among the best songs released in 2021.
2. Troye Sivan, “Angel Baby”
🎵 “Angel Baby” • 🏷 Universal Music Australia Pty Ltd. • 📅 2021
“I need a lover to keep me sane / Pull me from hell – bring me back again.” On Instagram, openly gay Australian (via South Africa) pop artist 🎙 Troye Sivan described 🎵 “Angel Baby” as a “surprise gushy juice doting adoring power bottom gay ballad.” Sivan has consistently embraced his sexuality, doing so once again, brilliantly on “Angel Baby.”
“Angel Baby” checks off all boxes. Sivan gets gorgeous production work from 🎛 Jason Evigan, who embraces a lush, plush, 80s-infused sound. Vocally, Sivan sounds utterly sublime, coming off authentic and honest. I heart the dedication that he exhibits towards his ‘angel.’ “I tell you how I almost died, while you’re bringing me back to life,” he sings on the pre-chorus, before unveiling the epic chorus. On the chorus, there’s a fuller sound with more punch from a production perspective. Furthermore, Sivan also performs with more oomph. The chorus is incredibly tuneful, bearing a memorable melody:
“I just wanna live in this moment forever ‘Cause I’m afraid that living couldn't get any better Started giving up on the world forever Until you give up heaven so we could be together.”
Troye Sivan excels in the pop lane, unafraid to embrace queerness. Musically, “Angel Baby” showcases a high level of musicianship in all facets: great performance, songwriting, and production work.
3. Chlöe, “Have Mercy”
🎵 “Have Mercy” • 🏷 Columbia • 📅 2021
🎙 Chlöe (Chloe Bailey) of 🏆 Grammy-nominated R&B duo 🎙 Chloe x Halle, steps out on her own on her brief, suggestive single, 🎵 “Have Mercy”. “Have Mercy” finds Bailey transitioning and maturing into an adult musician. She puts aside ‘childish things’ or at least, any inklings of teen-pop gracing the past.
“Have Mercy” is readymade for the club – and listening After Dark 🕛 🌃. It’s edgy but not too edgy. On the chorus, Chlöe serves up ample swagger, showing herself to be confident AF. “All this ass up in my jeans / You can’t get up in between,” she asserts on the chorus, continuing, “You tryna get a piece of me / I can teach you a couple of things (Lord, have mercy, work).” Beyond the chorus, she teases a nameless boy, proclaiming at the end of both verses, “You can’t get this thickness out of your mind.” Woo! Furthermore, on the more aggressive second verse, she asserts, “Body language like speaking Spanglish / I’ll educate ya how to do this shit.” Aiding the sexed-up theme and lyrics is slick, modern production work, courtesy of Bailey, 🎛 Murda Beatz, 🎛 BoogzDaBeast, 🎛 FnZ, and 🎛 Joseph L’Étranger.
4. Miguel, “Quickie”
💿 All I Want is You • 🏷 Jive / Sony • 📅 2010
“I don’t wanna be loved, I don’t wanna be loved / I just want a quickie.” Call 🏆 Grammy-winning R&B singer/songwriter 🎙 Miguel shallow if want, but he’s transparent about what he wants. “No bite marks, no scratches, and no hickies,” he continues singing on 🎵 “Quickie,” one of the gems from his 2010 debut album, 💿 All I Want is You. Here, it’s all about pleasure and nothing beyond that.
From the get-go, Miguel lays it out there. “Mami, you looking like I’m just another guy / That came to check you, that came to wreck you,” he commences the first verse. Of course, that’s the case: “No disrespect, but mami, that’s correct ‘cause / What’s in them jeans just got my mind hectic.” Basically, the dude’s horny AF, she’s fine AF, and he wants to have sex – “a quick fix.” He even slips in some Spanish, rather Portuguese on the second verse. And, remaining transparent on this contemporary soul cut, admits, “I’m so obscene, know what I mean?” “Quickie” remains one of the brightest spots in Miguel’s catalog.

5. Janet Jackson, “Strawberry Bounce”
💿 Damita Jo • 🏷 Virgin • 🗓 2004
“Ooh baby / Let me be your playground / Push it out and catch it on the rebound / Turn it out, swinging from this pole.” 🎙 Janet Jackson’s 2004 album, 💿 Damita Jo arrived at an inopportune time. First, it followed the infamous Superbowl XXXVIII controversy – the nip slip. Furthermore, it proved to be too sexually charged given those circumstances, unfair or not. 🎵 “Strawberry Bounce”, a highlight, certainly didn’t make Janet suddenly ‘family friendly.’ Those strawberries aren’t edible, after all!
“La-la-la-la La-la-la-la I like to make it You know I’ll make it Now can you take it Lose control!”
“Strawberry Bounce” ranks among the sexiest/most sexed-up moments from Damita Jo – carnal to the nth degree: “The way I work, it’s gonna keep you coming.” Hmm, coming, huh? That’s one of many instances where Jackson totally titillates. While there’s sexual innuendo, Jackson often provides enough details to show what she’s really going for. Indeed, she makes us feel incredibly sleazy on the bridge.
“I did a tease to bring you to yo’ knees baby Broke you down made you feel sleezy Then you said ‘You fine muthafucka, I like it, I like it’ (Lose control).”
Appreciate the striptease that is “Strawberry Bounce” post-Damita Jo.

6. Eli Lieb, “Kissing Your Tattoos”
💿 The Nights We Lived • 🏷 Eli Lieb • 📅 2017
“Yeah, I think it’s just a one-night thing / Sorry if you wanted more from me.” Apology accepted, 🎙 Eli Lieb, I suppose 😏. Basically, on 🎵 “Kissing Your Tattoos” (💿 The Nights We Lived, 2018), the openly gay pop musician asserts he and his lover are ‘temporary’ – merely hooking up for one passionate evening, if you will. It happens. “Maybe just some midnight rendezvous / But I’ll stay here kissing your tattoos.” Well, we can infer the sex is lit 🔥, right, particularly with those hot tattoos fueling the fire 😍!
“I’m touching every inch of you in the dark,” Lieb sings honestly, continuing, “Sometimes I don’t know when to stop.” Ah, the power of horniness, particularly between two horny guys 😈. The self-control must be minimal in that scenario. Worth noting, prior to that line, Eli legitimately considers, “Do you have a lot of one-night-stands?” The answer seems obvious (HELL YES), though we hope the man is being safe. To quote 🎙 Rae Sremmurd, 🎵 “Safe Sex Pay Checks”. Ultimately, the honest, relatable “Kissing Your Tattoos” is what it is – SEX. Sexual preference doesn’t matter. Basically, to quote 🎙 Yung Joc, 🎵 “It’s Goin Down”.

7. Ariana Grande, “34+35 (Remix)”
Ft. Doja Cat & Megan Thee Stallion
💿 Positions (Deluxe) • 🏷 Republic • 📅 2021
“If I put it quite plainly / Just gimme them babies.” Woah, 🎙 Ariana Grande! There’s no denying the sexual vibes of 🎵 “34 + 35 (Remix)” from 💿 Positions (Deluxe). I mean, do the math folks – 69! Worth noting, the first verse remains intact from the original. Grande makes sure she’s taking care of herself to keep him and maintain lit sex. “Can you stay up all night? / Fuck me ‘til the daylight / Thirty-four, thirty-five,” she sings on the infectious yet ‘totally-not-family-friendly’ chorus. After setting the over-the-top sexual tone on the first verse, pre-chorus, and chorus, Grande lets her bold guests, 🎙 Doja Cat and 🎙 Megan Thee Stallion get to work.
Doja Cat amplifies sex like a champ, including several titillating lines. “I want that six-nine without Tekashi / And I want your body and I’ll make it obvious,” she asserts, proving to be a mathematical genius. She doesn’t stop there, including referencing loud, raw sex (“They hear the clappin’, but we not applaudin’ ‘em”) and ‘purring’ (“Come make the cat purr, come make my back hurt, ayy / Makin’ that squirt and rain and shower and spray”). Megan Thee Stallion isn’t to outdone. She’s sexed-up to the nth degree, asserting, “I’m up like Starbucks, three pumps, ooh / This pussy good for your health, call it superfood.” Wow! Also, she throws self-love into the mix: “When I’m by myself, DIY like it’s YouTube.” Hey, if men have referenced ‘one-man shows’ for years, why can’t the ladies? Grande closes out mentioning how bad she is at math, but a pro at a particular problem:
“Means I wanna ‘69’ with you No shit Math class Never was good.”

8. August Alsina, “Soon as I Walk In”
💿 The Product III: stateofEMERGEncy • 🏷 Shake the World / EMPIRE • 📅 2020
“This is my motherfuckin’ song right here / Promise that it won’t be very long ‘til I’m there, yeah.” Charming, in an explicit, unapologetic way! R&B singer 🎙 August Alsina had some great moments on his 2020 album, 💿 The Product III: stateofEMERGEncy. Sure, The Product III: stateofEMERGEncy ran too long, but there were plenty of highlights to be found. One such highlight is 🎵 “Soon as I Walk in”, which appears as the 15th track on this 27-track affair.
“That Chanel number nine, really worth it / Got me rubbin’ on your legs and they so smooth / Got a nigga bangin’ on the door for you.” Ooh wee August! Notably, “Soon as I Walk in” effectively (and sexily) remixes the 🎙 Tink record, 🎵 “Soon as U Walk In”. “Soon as U Walk In” appeared on her 2019 album, 💿 Voicemails. She briefly appears on this remix, but essentially, it’s all August on this lush, slow jam. Clearly, the modus operandi is hot, passionate sex.
“Baby, since you’re ready To perform, to perform Girl, just say come get it And it’s on And it’s on.”

9. Doja Cat, “Need to Know”
💿 Planet Her • 🏷 Kemosabe / RCA • 📅 2021
“I just been fantasizin’ (Size) / And we got a lotta time (Time) / Baby, come throw the pipe (Pipe).” Woah, woah, WOAH NELLY! “Baby come throw the pipe?” Well, we know that 🎙 Doja Cat isn’t referencing a cigar! On 🎵 “Need to Know”, one of the best moments from 💿 Planet Her, Doja gives us a little bit of everything, singing often, while also dropping un-pitched rhymes on the second verse. The theme and topic of choice for Doja is SEX, of course! What really sells this sexed-up joint is her big personality. Of course, SIZE matters in the bedroom as well, at least according to her: “What’s your size? (Size) / Add, subtract, divide (‘Vide).”
Furthermore, Doja wants her man to know, “I got a lotta new tricks for you, baby / Just sayin’ I’m flexible / I do what I can to get you off.” Day-um! She doesn’t stop there, considering on the second verse she’s a damn magician: “Oh, wait, you a fan of magic? / Poof, pussy like an Alakazam.” Woo! The crème de la crème – the crowning achievement – is the memorable chorus:
“Wanna know what it’s like Baby, show me what it’s like I don’t really got no type I just wanna fuck all night.”
Yep – sex, sex, SEX. You read/heard it, with your own eyes/ears folks: “I just wanna fuck all night.” Doja is known for her sexual innuendo and being unapologetic. Worth noting, the music video 🎶📼 that accompanies “Need to Know” is awesome. This is high budget, entertaining, and titillating sugar-honey-iced-tea. Adding to the eye candy is Doja Cat’s smoking hot love interest, Cameron Saffle 😍. Sometimes, it’s hard to believe God created such a perfect specimen 😂. Hotties aside, the video is a captivating piece of art, supplementing this sexed-up bop encompassing Doja’s abilities in the bedroom.

10. Cameron Forbes, “Send Nudes”
🎵 “Send Nudes” • 🏷 things we like • 🗓 2021
“I wanna see a little more of you / All this talk about it got me in the mood,” 🎙 Cameron Forbes sings on 🎵 “Send Nudes”. He adds, “Send a little more of you / Send nudes.” Ah, these days, when it comes to dating (or mere lust), nude, sexy pics are part of the equation. It’s not enough to talk or use our imaginations to fantasize anymore – we need a visual! Back in the day, when there were no cell phones, well, nudes weren’t sent by DM or text – it’s that simple 🤷.
On “Send Nudes,” Forbes is taken by this fine specimen, and because he’s so turned on, he’s desiring and lusting for more. Basically, for the R&B singer, this is a case of “Show me what you got lil mama”, quoting the wise 🎙 Jay-Z. He wants to see!
“You gotta show it off while you got it Yo jeans look like a mixtape, just drop ‘em In that mirror like ain’t nobody watching When you hit that pose, there ain’t no stopping.”
Titillating for sure! Of course, Forbes is willing to reciprocate: “Show me yours / I’ll show you mine / Don’t think about it, just hit reply / Send more of you.” To reiterate, Forbes perfectly captures contemporary dating practices, whether your heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise. He doesn’t want to merely imagine her nude; HE 👏 WANTS 👏 TO 👏 SEE 👀👏 IT 👏! Hmm, imagine what he’ll do while viewing those pics… 😈 🍆 💦!

11. Scissor Sisters, “Harder You Get”
💿 Night Work • 🏷 Polydor • 🗓 2010
“And what I really want to do tonight / Is toughen you up.” Woo! Face it, the minute 🎵 “Harder You Get” (💿 Night Work, 2010) commences, it sounds like the soundtrack to a sexual experience, period. The music is enigmatic and groovy, and set in a minor key. It’s perfect fuel for the fire of 🎙 Jake Shears and 🎙 Scissor Sisters. Of course, where the Sisters excel most on “Harder You Get” are the innuendo-laden lyrics. Also, worth noting, “Harder You Get” is unapologetically gay 🏳️🌈, and we wouldn’t have it any other way 🌈!
“It ain’t Steven It isn’t Adam I got some apples if you want ‘em You can grab ‘em.”
See what I mean about the gay part? Adam and Steve, etc. Anyways, while the infamous reference is intriguing, more intriguing is the S-E-X, #Lyfe Jennings! “Beatin’ my drum / Faster you’re done” can’t possibly be an innocent lyric! Furthermore, what about the assertion “Hell is my heaven / A loaded weapon / Don’t point that thing at me / Unless you plan to shoot.” Hmm, shoot what, Jake, a ‘natural’ gun 🍆 💦? On “Harder You Get,” Scissors Sisters manage to make a sexy pop record without crossing the line. Gotta ❤️ sexual innuendo!!!

12. Fireboy DML, “Tattoo”
💿 APOLLO • 🏷 YBNL Nation / EMPIRE • 📅 2020
“Make I be like, tattoo for your body / When you need that bamboo, just call on me.” For Nigerian singer, 🎙 Fireboy DML, he wants to be the tattoo covering her body. This includes being “beside” her and, as you could easily guess, “Maybe inside” her. The sexy, smooth “Tattoo” appears as the fourth track off DML’s 2020 LP, 💿 APOLLO.
“Tattoo” features Nigerian Pidgin, giving it a distinct sound. Of course, you don’t need to be fluent in Nigerian or Nigerian Pidgin to understand and vibe with this song. The excerpted lyrics make Fireboy DML’s intentions clear. And if that’s not evidence enough, what about lines like, “Water no go quench the fire?” Basically, the desire is so strong, he needs passionate love to fulfill his urges. After all:
“You been running through my mind, you be Usain Bolt My fingertips on your hips Finna make you say (Oh) Baby.”
Ooh wee!

13. Teyana Taylor & Kehlani, “Morning”
💿 The Album • 🏷 Def Jam • 🗓 2020
“Got my legs up, hands up, at attention / You make me stand up and switch up on it…” 🎙 Teyana Taylor doesn’t hold back on 🎵 “Morning” from 💿 The Album (2020). She’s assisted by 🎙 Kehlani on this lush, sexed-TF-up affair. There’s no innocence or modesty as “Morning” is all about S-E-X. Explicit is the game for Teyana on the first verse. “Talk that shit, play with that clit, and watch it rain on you babe,” she boldly sings, adding, “Funny how you thought I tapped out when we was fuckin’.” HOLY SHIT! Taylor doesn’t stop on the pre-chorus that follows, which involves touch, titties, and tongue: “Touch it, ooh / Titties in your mouth / With your tongue all out.” Wow…
“Tryna see if I feel what it look like / Been had an urge that I can’t fight,” Kehlani, sings, adding, “Yeah, I fuckin’ feel you / Mean I feel you fuckin’ / Shit, I feel you cummin’ / Ain’t gon’ be no runnin’, oh.” On the chorus, the naughty tandem combines forces on select parts. Beyond the seductiveness, the production (🎛 Mixx, 🎛 Tune Da Rula, and 🎛 Miguel “Louis Gold” Jiminez) perfectly captures SEX too. How much you wanna bet the accompanying music video for “Morning” made ladies feel some type of way? Furthermore, straight men were turned on too as “Morning” depicts a sexual experience between two women. Interestingly, it hits different when its two ridiculously gorgeous women, or so it seems. What’s undeniable is, regardless of gender or sexuality, “Morning” is one of the sexiest songs and music videos you’ll ever see. Furthermore, it’s important that relationships depicted in songs, music videos, film, TV cover the full spectrum. “Morning,” of course, is best experienced After Dark 🕛 🌃 sans kids.

14. George Michael, “Freeek! 04”
💿 Patience • 🏷 Sony Music Entertainment (UK) • 📅 2004
“I’ll be your sexual freak, of the week / I’ll be your inspirational brother (sister), yo momma can’t you see.” 🎙 George Michael was one of pop’s very best. The total package, he had a fantastic voice and dashing good looks. Sadly, the 🏆 Grammy-winning icon was one of many music celebrity casualties in 2016, dying at the young age of 53. Despite his untimely passing, Michael left an epic catalog, including the incredibly naughty, After Dark 🕛 🌃 gem, 🎵 “Freeek! 04”. On the 12th track on his comeback album, 💿 Patience, Michael isn’t the least bit family friendly: “Come on kids, don’t be scared / It’s a tits and ass world you gotta be prepared.” Woo! Sex is the modus operandi, and George is willing to be the, um, naughty teacher if you will: “I’ll be your educational lover, your one-fuck fantasy.” Ooh wee – the temperature is rising!
Risqué and unapologetic, George’s relationship with sex is pronounced. He references booty, masturbation (“You shoot off, it saves you time”) and of course, the steamy sexual rendezvous. There are numerous titillating one-liners including “You got yourself an ass with a mind of its own,” “Faces in places where the sun don’t shine,” and the potent, “I think I need to re-booty.” Michael sounds amazing and infuses plenty of personality, selling the sex superbly. Adding to the sublime nature is the minor key, further amplifying naughtiness. There’s also electrifying production work by Michael, 🎛 Ruadhri Cushnan, 🎛 Niall Flynn, and 🎛 James Jackson, incorporating samples by Aaliyah (🎵 “Try Again”) and Q-Tip (🎵 “Breathe and Stop”). George Michael is bold AF on “Freeek! 04” and I live for it. There’s no way you leave listening to this slick pop joint, and your mind isn’t in the gutter.

15. serpentwithfeet, “Wood Boy”
💿 DEACON • 🏷 Secretly Canadian • 🗓 2021
“Who am I foolin’? / It’s nice when your body is near mine.” I think most of us can agree, regardless of sexual preference, it’s nice to have someone we love close to us, just as 🎙 serpentwithfeet (Josiah Wise) asserts. There’s nothing too wild regarding those lyrics from 🎵 “Wood Boy”, a highlight from his sophomore album, 💿 DEACON. Where things get steamier for the alternative R&B artist is his openness discussing the physical aspects of his relationship.
“Damn, he feelin’ on my body / Damn, he fillin’ up my body / Damn, I like him inside me.” Did you catch the wordplay there? It would be accurate to characterize gay sex as taboo in the past. To some degree, it’s still taboo. People are becoming more comfortable with it, so there’s some progression. I say that to say, serpentwithfeet, who is openly gay, describes the pleasure of sex – what he likes and how he likes it. “I want you on top of me,” he sings twice on the first verse, which, intriguingly, references sex roles in this given relationship. The chorus is where things are undeniably gay – and we’re here for it! “He’s stacking that wood / …Got my wood, wood boy” refers to size, which graces heterosexual pop too, just from a different perspective. I mean, how many rappers have discussed how they please ladies?
Serpentwithfeet is never explicit, but unless you live under a rock, the ‘wood’ he’s talking about doesn’t grow on a tree…. The second verse is less sexual but finds Wise affected by the excellence of the physical experience. “What’s my name again,” he asks at the close of the verse, given the mind-blowing sex. Ooh wee, does the temperature soar after listening to “Wood Boy.” This is one of the sexiest songs of 2021 by far. If gay men are in search of an anthem that speaks to the pleasure of sex, “Wood Boy” is a prime example.
