“Got my legs up, hands up, at attention / You make me stand up and switch up on it.” Steamy would be a great way to characterize the excerpted lyrics from the single, “Morning.” “Morning” is a lush, sexed-up collaborative single from R&B standouts Teyana Taylor and the Grammy-nominated Kehlani.  Safe to say, on this four-minute-plus joint, neither Taylor or Kehlani hold back – they keep it 100!

The chorus, partially excerpted above, sets the tone for “Morning.” Sex is the modus operandi without question.  Following the chorus, prior to the first verse performed by Teyana Taylor, she sings the pre-chorus, where essentially, the sex is nothing short of awesome.  According to Taylor, “I be stayin’ up, up, up /… Up, up on you.” That’s crystal clear.  The first verse makes it clear what’s going down, as on her first line, she asserts, “Ain’t no limit when I’m pullin’ when I fuck on you, babe.”  Got it T.T. – we got it! And if we didn’t, on the pre-chorus, she’s even more frank, particularly when she freakily sings, “Titties in your mouth.” TMI. Moving on, Kehlani keeps it explicit as opposed to suggestive on the second verse.  Case in point:

“Yeah, I fuckin’ feel you
Mean I feel you fuckin’
Shit, I feel you cummin’
Ain’t gon’ be no runnin’, oh.”

Of course, on the chorus, the naughty tandem combine forces on select parts. Beyond seductiveness of both Taylor and Kehlani’s respective performances, the production (Mixx, Tune Da Rula, and Miguel “Louis Gold” Jiminez) perfectly captures – wait for it – SEX.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, “Morning” is quite shallow.  Sex doesn’t lend itself to transcendence.  At the same time, people relate to sex, and in this case, Teyana Taylor and Kehlani present a titillating take to say the least.  It’s raw – probably too much information as aforementioned – but that doesn’t keep “Morning” from being enjoyable or a vibe.  Still, some matters of the bedroom are best left between lovers, right? Right!
