nnuendo? More like full-on sexual vibes! Welcome to After Dark 🕛 🌃, a column featuring songs that are best suited for nighttime, specifically, the bedroom.  Like Controversial Tunes 😈🎶, the records featured raise eyebrows.  The difference between the songs of CONTROVERSY and DARK? These songs specifically focus on the universal topic of S-E-X. The dark records gracing After Dark are old and new alike, with all genres of music welcome.  On the 14th edition of After Dark, we explore the naughty, risqué, scandalous & utterly sexual vibes behind, 🎵 “34 + 35 (Remix)” by 🎙 Ariana Grande, featuring 🎙 Doja Cat and 🎙 Megan Thee Stallion.

Theme & Lyrics

“If I put it quite plainly / Just gimme them babies.” Woah, Ariana Grande! There’s no denying the sexual vibes of 🎵 “34 + 35 (Remix)”, which appears on 💿 Positions (Deluxe).  I mean, do the math folks – 69! Worth noting, the first verse remains intact from the original. Grande makes sure she’s taking care of herself to keep him and maintain lit sex. “Can you stay up all night? / Fuck me ‘til the daylight / Thirty-four, thirty-five,” she sings on the infectious yet ‘totally-not-family-friendly’ chorus.  After setting the over-the-top sexual tone on the first verse, pre-chorus, and chorus, Grande lets her bold guests, Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion get to work.

Doja Cat, of course, amplifies sex like a champ.  This includes several titillating lines. “I want that six-nine without Tekashi / And I want your body and I’ll make it obvious,” she asserts, proving to be a mathematical genius.  She doesn’t stop there, including referencing loud, raw sex (“They hear the clappin’, but we not applaudin’ ‘em”) and ‘purring’ (“Come make the cat purr, come make my back hurt, ayy / Makin’ that squirt and rain and shower and spray”).  Yeah, Doja gets filthy with it.

Megan Thee Stallion, of course, isn’t to outdone.  Honestly, unapologetic should be her middle name! She’s sexed-up to the nth degree, asserting, “I’m up like Starbucks, three pumps, ooh / This pussy good for your health, call it superfood.” Wow!  Also, she throws some self-love into the mix: “When I’m by myself, DIY like it’s YouTube.” Hey, if men have referenced ‘one-man shows’ for years, why can’t the ladies?  Of course, Grande closes out mentioning how bad she is at math, but of course, she’s a pro at this particular problem:

“Means I wanna ‘69’ with you
No shit
Math class
Never was good.”

Final Thoughts 💭

“34+35” and “34+35 (Remix)” is a prime example of women being unafraid to speak about their sexual desires.  The men have done it for years and now, the ladies are getting into the mix.  Yes, it’s raunchy and risqué, but Ariana, Doja, and Megan make their point crystal clear.
