Bryson Tiller can back up his come up.  The singer/rapper broke through into the mainstream in 2015, earning a platinum album with TRAPSOUL.  “502 Come Up” celebrates his triumphs.  For the non-Kentuckians, the 502 references Louisville, Kentucky, specifically the area code.  Tiller is from Louisville, and is currently the biggest, mainstream music name from Kentucky.  In a state known more for its country musicians, Tiller proved a Louisville urban artist could succeed.

Does “502 Come Up” contain great depth? No, but how many rap come up songs do? Few.

“Woke up in the hills this morning / asking myself, how did I get here this morning? /…Youngest from the Ville, important…/ Crack cocaine, that’s what we putting out…”

“Up like Donald Trump, chain swings like nun-chucks…”
