Bring on the bold, fierce songs! Bangerz N Bopz serves up background info and insights into songs across various styles, especially those that raise eyebrows and/or stir the pot.  Featured records can be classic or brand new. In the 38th edition of Bangerz N Bopz (2026), we break down “FEIN” performed by Travis Scott.

“What I’m sippin’ not kombucha, either pink or brown (It’s lit).”
Kombucha is not for everybody, Travis Scott (Jacques Bermon Webster II).  That said, your substances of choice seem high-risk… The Grammy-nominated rapper tapped fellow Grammy nominee, Playboi Carti (Jordan Terrell Carter) for the assist on his banger, “FE!N”. “FE!N,” a stylized version of the word fein, is the eighth track on Scott’s 2023 Grammy-nominated album, UTOPIA.  The single debuted and peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100. As of April 2025, the Recording Industry Association of America certified it as multiplatinum. It was written by Scott, Carti, Sheck Wes, and Jahaan Sweet. Scott produced it with Sweet.

The musical backdrop is lit, as Travis Scott often reminds us in his songs.  Scott draws first blood, performing the intro with some Sheck Wes ad-libs.  After setting the tone, Scott delivers the simple but ultra-memorable chorus with his effects-heavy vocals: “FE!N, FE!N, FE!N, FE!N, FE!N.” WOO! He drops some memorable bars throughout the first verse, whether it’s the opening “The career’s more at stake when you in your prime (At stuck) / Fuck that paper, baby, my face on the dotted line,” or the fein-ish “Oh my God, that bitch bitin’ /… tryna vibe… / In the night, come alive.” Following the second chorus, Playboi Carti makes his first appearance, performing the bridge.  The keyword: “Homixide.” IYKYK.  Carti segues into the second verse, where he brags, “I just been poppin’ my shit and gettin’ it live, hold up,” and he’s been “Playin’ both side with these hoes (Hold up), shawty, I’m fuckin’ your friend (Hold up).” Wow.  The third chorus comes with ad-libs from Carti. Carti handles the reins on most of the final verse, talking plenty of – wait for it – shit.  “I put the bitch on the road, she tryna fuck on the O, hold up, hold up,” and, “I got flows for days, these niggas ain’t on nothin’, hold up, yeah.” Travis Scott returns for the outro, filled with “FE!N” and from Carti’s perspective, “Homixide.” All told, Travis Scott and Playboi Carti drop a crowd-pleasing rap banger in “FE!N”. It’s not deep, but it’s well-produced and well-performed by both rappers, who bring plenty of attitude and fire.
