Tony! Toni! Toné!, Feels Good | Throwback Vibez

In the 99^th edition of Throwback Vibez (2026), we reflect on “Feels Good” by Grammy-nominated R&B band Tony! Toni! Toné!.

All genres are welcome, ensuring something for every musical taste. In the 99^th edition of Throwback Vibez (2026), we reflect on “Feels Good” performed by Tony! Toni! Toné!.

“Feels Good” truly ‘feels good’ from the get-go. It begins with a striking, spoken-word intro: “Play this record as frequently as possible / Then, as it becomes easier for you / Play the record once a day or as needed.” Noted! The New Jack Swing sound is in full effect – the groove, the sound effects, and those nostalgic turntables. Raphael Saadiq performs the chorus, excerpted earlier, in all its glory. Tony! Toni! Toné! perform the refrain that follows:  “If the rhythm feels good to you, baby / Let me hear you say (Oh, oh, baby).” Note the orgasmic sounds 😈. Saadiq also performs the verses.  In the first verse, he sings, “Moments that we share / Special times alone (Ah…) / Just don’t ever change.” The “Ah” is courtesy of T!T!T! The second verse is equally intriguing:  

“Now, last night was so fun

Lovin’ one on one (Ah…)

I was holding you so tight

Now I just might make you my wife.” 

The feels continue to be good – great, actually! Mocedes, aka Mopreme Shakur, brings a change of pace. He raps the third verse, with a compelling cadence and flow: “Mocedes the Mellow, quite a nice fellow / Met 3T, hit a rhyme a Capello…” Word. The outro is hella fun. The energy is through the roof! Honestly, little commentary is needed to capture the greatness of “Feels Good.” This infectious ‘90s gem speaks for itself!
