In the 80th edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “BAIT,” performed by pop singer, songwriter, and producer Timothy Skyler.
Are you ready to beam with P-R-I-D-E? Beaming with Pride highlights songs by LGBTQ musicians and allies, offering background, analysis, and discussion of the decadent bops served up. All genres are welcome, and both classics and new songs are recognized. So, without further ado, in the 80th edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “BAIT” performed by Timothy Skyler.
Early on, “BAIT” is incredibly playful. Timothy Skyler kicks off his expressive vocal performance with non-lexical vocables. It’s giving “nah, nah, na, na” – you get the picture. After setting up the ‘tease,’ if you will, Skyler digs in. “You don’t even want me ‘til we’re back to back,” he asserts in his fabulous tenor, and adds, “Grinding on two bodies that we never had /But baby now I feel you, and I want it bad.” Ooh-la-la! Later, in the second verse, the game/jealousy/sexual tension etc. continues: “You want me to take off my clothes / And dominate my ego.” Well, based on what we’ve seen of you, Tim, clothes aren’t necessary, my guy! As turned on as Skyler’s made us, he’d refrained from cursing. That changes during the ultra-aggressive, distorted bridge vocals: “Kiss that twink until hurts / Egofucker you’re flirt / Feel for you I’m the dirt.” Egofucker, huh? Now that’s a word, right there! Cute, handsome, sexy, and talented with a knack for compelling songwriting and top-notch production – he’s H-I-M – Timothy Skyler drops a kick-ass, queer pop bop with “BAIT.”
