Ascending pop singer-songwriter Thomas Day delivers a superb heartbroken song with “will you be coming around?”
There is a lot to like about “will you be coming around?” It begins with the prominent and sweet rhythmic guitar – a welcome musical texture and timbre. The accompanying groove is none too shabby, either. Of course, the star of the show isn’t guitars or drums, but rather Thomas Day. His voice is alluring and quite distinct. He excels in the rhythmic melodic lines. Matters of the heart are the driving force: “I’ve learned the science to let you go /… While I’ve traveled ‘round the world for you / But nothing ever turns you on.” Bummer! His falsetto is delightful during the chorus. Beyond that potent head voice, the melody is particularly tuneful in this section.
“Where are you now?
I wanna know where you’re now
Won’t you sing to me now?
Will you be coming around?
Will you be coming around?”
Ultimately, Thomas Day drops a scintillating pop bop with “will you be coming around?” A strong vocal, memorable lyrics, tuneful melodies, and the guitar-fueled production all earn the song high marks.
