It only takes ONE hit to solidify a musical legacy 💯! On 1 Hit WONDERful, we highlight songs that were the SOLE hit by a given musician.  It is possible that the artists appearing on this list earned a minor hit or two, BUT for the most part, that ONE hit earned them recognition. So, in the 22nd edition of 1 Hit WONDERful (2026), we dive into “Make Her Feel Good”, the one-hit wonder by Teairra Marí.

“Young princess of the Roc, yeah / Teairra Marí / We gets busy, come on.”
Teairra Marí brought plenty to the table with “Make Her Feel Good”, the lead single and opening track from her sole album, Roc-A-Fella Records Presents Teairra Marí. But she didn’t earn the success of her teen contemporary, Rihanna, who became a billionaire superstar. Marí deserved much better than her lot, considering her debut album was great, oozing with potential.  But, unfortunately, “Make Her Feel Good” would be the only song that reached the pop charts. It peaked respectably at number 35 on the Billboard Hot 100. Unfortunately, neither the single nor the album received certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America.  Bummer! “Make Her Feel Good” was written by The Co-Stars, Willie Hutch, Rakim, Eric B., and Sean Garrett. How so? Sampling and interpolation, of course.  The Co-Stars and Sean Garrett produced it.

She keeps the same energy in the second and third verses.  The bridge is also noteworthy, as Teairra asks, “Why is it so hard for a girl like me / To find a boy that really knows how to / Make a girl feel, girl, feel / Feel.” Legit and relatable! Of course, the section to beat, the crème de la crème, is the chorus.  Here, Marí serves up kick-ass background vocals and scintillating ad-libs, showcasing her talent.

“Is there any boys around

That know how to make a girl feel (Oh, whoa)

That wanna make a girl feel (Make a girl feel)

Make her feel good, all I wanna know (Make her feel real, I gotta know).”

Adding to the goodness of “Make Her Feel Good” is the banging production.  That beat is EVERYTHING.  Sure, R&B doesn’t sound like this song does anymore, but there is still something refreshing about this song and Teairra Marí.  Again, she deserved more!
