The new track ‘Halfway To The Moon‘ is the first release since his highly acclaimed ‘Got This Feeling‘. It could not have landed at a better time with the spring weather beating down on us already. It is joyous, and it increases the endorphin levels within an instant. Therefore looking for a pick me up this March? Loko no further than this one.

Glowing from the second, Thomas opens his vocal cords with vigour; moreover, he gets the listener fist thumping to his harmonically rich melodies. Also, Thomas showcases his gritty vocal quality with him hitting the notes with fearless quality; he sounds raw but for the right reasons, and the original energy does not get lost in the mix.

The rhythm guitar hook, which plays continually throughout, gives the track the feel-good grove, which glues the entire piece together. Also, Thomas‘ backing band synergise well with plenty of sounds leaking out of the compound. The sax is big, bold and inviting, and the drums keep the flow moving forward with an influential rhythm.

Having reviewed ‘Got This Feeling‘, it was challenging to imagine Thomas stepping up even more. But he has, and he and his funk band have taken a step forward with the groups sound excelling. Also, despite the structure staying somewhat similar throughout, it does not get repetitive. Instead, the hooks seep into the brain.
