Olivia Morreale, Parasomnia | Track Review 🎵

LA-based artist, writer, and producer Olivia Morreale stands out from the crowd with her adventurous, totally satisfying single, “Parasomnia.”

According to Sleep Foundation, “‘Parasomnia’ is a catchall term for unusual behaviors that people experience prior to falling asleep, while asleep, or doing the arousal period between sleep and wakefulness.”  Why do I mention parasomnia you ask? Well, Los Angeles-based artist, writer, and producer 🎙 Olivia Morreale has released a single entitled 🎵 “Parasomnia”.  Because the record has some intriguing, unusual qualities, it felt fitting to properly define the term being used.  The excellence of the track speaks for itself. 

“Parasomnia” commences quite mysteriously; it’s certainly unique from the onset with the sound effects. Following the intro, the somewhat unusually sounding record begins to gain some stability.  Give it a couple of bars and the script begins to reveal itself.  Once settled in, the vibe and aesthetic are incredibly awesome.  Furthermore, keeping in mind what Olivia Morreale is singing about, it makes perfect sense why “Parasomnia” is more unexpected and unpredictable – I like that edge.

Of course, the key piece isn’t the parasomnia itself but rather Olivia Morreale.  She delivers beautiful vocals, flaunting a truly lovely tone.  Couple that voice with adventurous production (Morreale and 🎛 KOZ) and compelling song writing (Morreale and 🎼✍ Eli Koskoff), and ultimately, “Parasomnia” is a prime example of a one-of-a-kind pop record – one that clearly separates itself from a crowded field.

All in all, Olivia Morreale totally impresses on “Parasomnia.”  Not only does the single check off all the pop boxes, but it’s also more alluring because there’s more unpredictability and experimentation.  The adventurous spirit truly pays off here and hopefully, it will pay more dividends in the future for Morreale.  She has plenty to offer – get at her!
