Ryan Belcher, TEETH | Beaming with Pride

All genres are welcome, and both classics and new songs are recognized. So, without further ado, in the 74^th edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “TEETH” performed by Ryan Belcher.

Hmm 🤔, okay… Why? Did HE say something about them? Picture it: ‘Two boys, one downtown apartment, and a distant love that turns into intimate hatred.’ While I’d love to say I authored those words, which appear in a TikTok/Instagram caption, those honors belong to the handsome and talented Ryan Belcher (he/him). Beyond the alluring, thoughtful caption, Belcher wrote and produced a pretty, polished pop song, “TEETH.” While “TEETH” is the name, and teeth are mentioned – see the excerpted lyrics – the song isn’t really about teeth. A boy is involved 😏; Ryan loves him, and yet a plethora of things are wrong with this ‘relationship.’

There is a lot to like about “TEETH.” Whether there are questions about his own, in terms of anxiety, insecurity, and such, Ryan Belcher delivers perfect ‘pearly whites’ via song, if nothing else. The production and sound ‘eat’: shiny, vibrant, and well-rounded. Beyond composing and producing, Belcher also performs soundly from a vocal perspective. He sounds cool and easy-going, delivering tuneful melodies and clever, memorable lyrics. “I’m making money, but I spend it on you / Ain’t nothing else I look forward to”, he sings in the first verse, and continues, “You could rob me for all my money / It’s poetic though, the way this feels like a joke.” Yeah, it’s giving red flags, dude, particularly if you’re that obsessed 👀! During the pre-chorus, Belcher asserts, “You could walk all over me (I think you know) / And you just might ruin me.” Why are you going to allow him to ruin you, Ryan? Remember when I said you were handsome and talented? C’mon now! It’s both complicated and simple. We all want to be loved, and sometimes, we are willing to accept the illusion of love, even when it’s not worth our while. The chorus, the crème de la crème, packs more of a punch instrumentally and vocally. Ryan is honest about the situation, singing memorably and tunefully:

“I keep traveling down this dead-end street

And you keep running far away from me

It’s in my bones, and It’s in my teeth

Stuck in between, it’s you and me.”

As the song progresses, more issues arise between them, with the boy pulling back while Ryan is focused on pursuing him fully. Of course, there’s sex, but that doesn’t solve things, ultimately.  Belcher admits, “I bite my tongue for the sake of you / You’re comfortable, and I love that too / Hoping that one day I won’t be unhappy / Oh, it’s pathetic now…” Yep… “TEETH” is an example of a great pop song that more people need to be listening to.  Ryan Belcher has crafted an incredibly clever heartbreak song.  It shows how much we are willing to sacrifice to be loved, even when it’s not really love in the least.
