HUGEL, Sexyy Red & Gatano, Bad Bitch | Song Review

French DJ/producer HUGEL, St. Louis rapper Sexyy Redd, and Canadian DJ/producer Gatano collaborate on the bite-sized vibe, “Bad Bitch.”

Oh, does he, now?! Sooo, what happens when French DJ/producer HUGEL (Florent Hugel), St. Louis rapper Sexyy Red (Janae Wherry), and Canadian DJ/producer Gatano (Julian Dzeko) collaborate? One hell of an intriguing song – that’s what! Fittingly, the song  is named “Bad Bitch.” HUGEL, Gatano, Sexyy Red, and Key Glock composed it. HUGEL, Gatano, and François-Guillaume Muller produced.

Sexyy Red handles the vocals on “Bad Bitch.” As expected, she comes in hot, rather unapologetic. The rapper is confident, unfiltered, and unhinged. “He askin’, can he get some time? (No) / I’m a young term bitch, I’m on prime (Let’s go),” she raps in the first verse.  In the second, she asserts, “He wanna hang with a bad bitch / She all on my dick ‘cause I’m savvy / I got a black cootchie firm for the glasses / I know you see all this motion I’m having.” Oh, snap! Is Sexyy Red as unhinged as the music where she’s the lead artist? Not quite, but the bad bitchery is built around her being rough around the edges and true to herself. From the production perspective, HUGEL and Gatano are locked in. The song features an infectious, danceable beat and dance-tastic production. Colorful synths and an awesome bass line accompany a one-of-one Sexyy Red. A brief number, “Bad Bitch” may not be the second coming, but it’s enjoyable enough – a bite-sized vibe!
