~ Album Reviews 💿 ~

Album reviews tend to follow a track-by-track format, commencing with an intro paragraph comprised of background information, and concluding paragraph that wraps things up. Also, GEMS 💎 – the best, highly recommended tracks – are selected at the end of each review. It should not come as a surprise to see the analysis run > 1000 words.

Katy Perry, Rise | Track Review 🎵

Katy Perry returns respectably after a three-year hiatus with Olympic single, “Rise,” which doesn’t supplant her best work.

Grouplove, Welcome to Your Life | Track Review 🎵

Grouplove’s latest single may hail from a forthcoming album entitled ‘Big Mess’ but “Welcome to Your Life” is the furthest thing from a mess.

Banks, F**k With Myself | Track Review 🎵

Alternative musician Banks drops a bomb (an f-bomb specifically) with electrifying, explicitly honest single, “F*ck With Myself.”

Britney Spears, Make Me | Track Review 🎵

Britney Spears’ latest single “Make Me” is easily a cut above her previous single, the mediocre “Pretty Girls” featuring Iggy Azalea.

John Newman, Olé | Track Review 🎵

John Newman has some nice ideas happening during “Olé.” That said, the single isn’t nearly as electrifying as “Love Me Again” or “Losing Sleep.”

Jidenna, Little Bit More | Track Review 🎵

Jidenna follows up "Classic Man" with "Little Bit More." “Little Bit More” has some of the underpinnings of a hit, it's lukewarm at best.

Demi Lovato, Body Say | Track Review 🎵

On Demi Lovato’s latest single “Body Say,” it’s clear that sex is the M.O. It’s not merely innuendo, but brutal honesty from the gifted pop singer.

Shawn Mendes, Ruin | Track Review 🎵

Canadian pop artist Shawn Mendes shines on “Ruin,” a soulful, memorable, and well-written single that shows him maturing and “stepping up his game.”

Kanye West, Famous | Track Review 🎵

Kanye West is one of the world's most polarizing musicians. West's controversial track "Famous," along with its equally controversial video confirms such.

Fergie, M.I.L.F.$ | Track Review 🎵

It seems as if Fergie has been trying to 'reclaim her status' for a couple of years. "M.I.L.F.$" is the latest attempt at her comeback.
