Myylo, Dick Pics | Song Review

He’s back! Creative gay pop singer-songwriter Myylo delivers a compelling comeback bop with the fun, unapologetic “Dick Pics.”

Myylo (Michael Lewis), you’re not wrong! I have a question, though? Where have you been? Your absence left our ears void with your entertaining, unapologetic gay pop music, sigh.  Sure, others have made us beam with pride while you were on hiatus, but we’re glad our handsome, Dad-kisser is back! Just ‘how back’ is he? “Dick Pics” are involved! No indecent exposure on the cover art by Nick Delisi. Myylo is shirtless (rawr!), rocking a mean pair of boxer shorts, with a camera in hand! He wrote “Dick Picks” with Travis Heidelman. Louie Diller produced it.

“Dick Pics” opens with a satisfying groove. Even more satisfying are the vocals and compelling, spicy lyrics. Myylo captures the prevalence of online adult entertainment in pitch-perfect fashion.  He acknowledges the art, singing: “Many Michelangelos addicted to the flesh / The medium has changed, but the art is still undressed.” What a banger of a line! It reminds me why I loved Myylo’s music so much the first time I heard it.  Later, he drops other gems like “Invented a language with emoji hieroglyphs,” and admits, “Got a lot of urges that I’m not trying to suppress / So reach out when you’re lonely for that digital caress.” In the chorus, Myylo admits his own NSFW activities. All, the while, he teaches us how to spell important anatomy: D-I-C-K, and C-O-C-K. D-d-damn! The chorus, which is big, bold, and tuneful, is the crème de la crème:

“D-I-C-K

Dick pics on your phone today

I hope you like the way I shoot the instrument (Do you like it?)

…Are you into my body, on the screen

Cause this one’s between you and me.”

True art, those D pics! IYKYK! Anyways, it’s great to have the handsome, talented Myylo back making new music. Clearly, with the quality of this comeback gem, he’s no grower – he’s a shower!
