Are you ready to beam with P-R-I-D-E? Beaming with Pride highlights songs by LGBTQ musicians and allies, offering background, analysis, and discussion of the decadent bops served up. All genres are welcome, and both classics and new songs are recognized. So, without further ado, in the 47th edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “Coming Close” performed by Loreen.

“I feel you’re coming close, close.”
Noted, Loreen (Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui)! The two-time Eurovision winner compels on “Coming Close”. “Close” is the eighth track from the Swedish singer-songwriter’s 2026 album, WILDFIRE. The dance-pop bop was written by Loreen, Charlie Martin, Joe Housley, and Andrew Jackson.  The Nocturns (Martin and Housley) produced it.

Beyond the synth, the entire production is vibrant.  Rhythmic synths, warm pads, and fresh beats, ready-made for the dance floor, give Loreen an awesome backdrop to sing over. She delivers beautiful, airy vocals. Her voice soars above the electronic instrumentation. Her falsetto, for lack of a better word, is ripe. Throughout, the melodies are tuneful, while the lyrics are compelling and poetic.  “Sirens call, wake up the dream / Sweet like raindrops, clarity under the smoke,” Loreen sings in the first verse, and admits in the second verse, “Reaching through the space in between / I realize I’ve never been on my own.” Ooh-wee! Unsurprisingly, given the dance-pop genre, the titular lyric is prevalent – specifically, during the chorus. Another section worth highlighting is the bridge, where Loreen concludes, “In the deepest sign of surrender / In the moment gone too soon / I can hear you calling / ‘Let go, darling, I’m still here with you.’” With no extensive analysis or commentary necessary, Loreen ‘brings it’ on “Coming Close”.  It all comes down to gorgeous vocals, memorable songwriting, and outstanding, sleek production.
