Kelly Clarkson, Move You | Track Review 🎵

Veteran pop star Kelly Clarkson moves us on ‘Move You,’ a promo single from her highly-anticipated seventh album, ‘Meaning of Life’ (October 27). 

Kelly Clarkson ranks as one of the most consistent female pop artists without question.  Clarkson has an incredibly versatile voice that “could sing the phone book,” to quote the former American Idol judges. After a two-year hiatus, the original American Idol winner returns with Meaning of Life, her seventh album (including holiday album, Wrapped in Red). With the announcement of Meaning of Life, Clarkson released two singles: “Love So Soft” and “Move You.” 

While “Love So Soft” is a single jam-packed with attitude, “Move You” is an uplifting, thoughtfully written ballad.  The tempo is naturally slower, but a heavy pop/rock drum groove adds some punch.  Overall, the production is a selling point, including gospel choral vocals, guitar, and strings.  Those choral vocals truly elevate “Move You,” providing more fuel for Clarkson’s lead.  Not that she needed it – she’s inspired all on her own.

The modus operandi is moving one another in regards to a relationship.  Essentially, Clarkson is suggesting she wants to complete her husband – she wants to be his everything.  This is thoughtful messaging and songwriting.  It’s all about dedication and true love.  Cons? What cons?  Even if there were, the epic moment when Clarkson lets loose, backed by those gospel vocals – chills!

Final Thoughts 

One word – BRILLIANT!  Kelly Clarkson continues to move us.  She can sport mad attitude (“Love So Soft”) just as well as she can slaughter (positively) an uplifting ballad (“Move You”).  At 35, Clarkson continues to slay the competition.  These young girls have nothing on Kelly!
