Joyce Wrice, Break Me In | Spicy Tunez

In the 62^nd edition of Spicy Tunez (2026), we explore the eyebrow-raising, naughty, sexed-up vibes behind “Break Me In” by Joyce Wrice. 

Aww, shee-it! Prepare to be shooketh! Spicy Tunez is a column filled with naughty, sometimes controversial, and NSFW songs 👀.  Some songs merely dabble in innuendo and suggestiveness.  Others, however, go whole hog and embrace a give-no-fucks aesthetic, thrive on sexual endeavors, utter shock value, and sometimes find themselves firmly embroiled in censorship… DUN, DUN, DUN! In the 62^nd edition of Spicy Tunez (2026), we explore the eyebrow-raising, naughty, sexed-up vibes behind “Break Me In” by Joyce Wrice. 

I beg your finest pardon, Joyce Wrice? The beautiful and talented R&B singer-songwriter brings the sensual vibes big-time on “Break Me In.” In the first verse, she adds, “Shoot your shot, take off the safety / Touch my soul.” Joyce said what she said! Wrice wrote “Break Me In” with Malik Ninety Five, Mike Baretz, Hadar Adora, Daniel Church, and Shae Jacobs.  Malik Ninety Five and Mike Baretz produced it.

“Break Me In” is spicy but also quite classy. The sound blends contemporary R&B, adult contemporary, and neo-soul.  The backdrop is refined and sophisticated. Additionally, the production is colorful.  The groove is electrifying. Beyond the music, Joyce Wrice shines with her sensual, buttery-smooth vocal performance. She hits all the right notes, PERIODT.  The melody is memorable, as are the lyrics, as evidenced earlier. “Come unravel me, my baby / I’m yours for the taking,” she sings in the second verse, and adds, “Tension’s almost suffocating / Take your hands, put ‘em ‘right there.”  The chorus, of course, is the crème de la crème – the crowning achievement:

“I hate it when you make me wait, wait

When I touch myself, it’s not the same

I need you to break me in

Don’t make me wait (Don’t make me wait)

Nobody else got me feeling this way (Feeling), oh (Oh).”

The bridge contrasts verses and chorus with a different harmonic progression and melody.  Still, it relates to the romantic and sensual theme and lyrics (“I can’t fake it, body achin’, I’m all yours to take”).  All in all, “Break Me In” is a must-hear, spicy tune! To reiterate, it’s classy, but Joyce Wrice still gets down!
