Gay pop singer-songwriter JORDY ate and left no crumbs on “DUMB”, one of his most fun and infectious songs to date.
First and foremost, let’s be clear: “DUMB” is not dumb. It’s a lustful, up-tempo bop. The production is electrifying, embracing pop, pop/rock, and synth-driven vibes. JORDY rises to the occasion, singing atop this intriguing backdrop, delivering playful, talk-sung vocals (at times) and plenty of attitude. Thematically, as the excerpted lyric from the first verse suggests, he isn’t thinking deeply regarding L-O-V-E or, better yet, S-E-X. What he knows is, “You gotta nice face, and you gotta nice bum / Come back to my place, baby, we can get stupid, we can get” – wait for it – DUMB! In the second verse, he confirms his dumb lust: “Subtract a few clothes, baby, I could go south.” No doubt about what he’s getting at there. The chorus is infectious on this playful, utterly dumb (in the best way possible) cut:
“Dumb, dumb, dumb
I might need to fall in love, love, love
Come on over, baby, shut me up
Maybe we could get, maybe we could get
Dumb.”
Another superb moment is the bridge, which distinguishes itself from everything else. There is also a bit more meant on the bones, while still being D-U-M-B. “I got what you need, bring your appetite.” Yep, JORDY is still talking about sex! All told, JORDY ate and left no crumbs on “DUMB”, one of his most fun and infectious songs to date.
