JISOO, ADDICTED → Song Review

South Korean pop singer JISOO releases an addictive, irresistible pop bop with “ADDICTED.”

“Now you got me so addicted, got me so addicted, got me so addicted to ya.” South Korean pop singer JISOO is clearly A-D-D-I-C-T-E-D to him! And she has us A-D-D-I-C-T-E-D to her irresistible pop bop, fittingly named “ADDICTED.” JISOO wrote “ADDICTED” alongside Austin Wolfe, Jack Brady, Jordan Roman, Terius Gesteelde-Diamant (The-Dream), and Tiina Vainikainen.  The Wavys and Sol Was produced it. Lots of cooks in the kitchen, but it’s well worth it!

“ADDICTED” begins moodily; there are thunder and lightning sound effects. It settles into a minor key, with dark production.  Well-constructed, the groove is electrifying, and the vibe – it feels right! Despite the darkness, JISOO delivers enthusiastically sweet pop vocals. The verses, pre-choruses, and especially the chorus feature tuneful melodies. The lyrics are naughty without crossing the line.  “Every kiss a hit, every touch a trip,” she asserts in the first verse, and adds, “You’re my ecstasy, perfect fantasy / Something like a dream, only in a dream.” Oh, wow! The second verse features assertive rapped vocals before the melody returns. At the end of the second verse, she sings, “Taking a ride all through the night / Starting to lose control.” Oh, snap! I love the fast-paced chorus melody. The whole chorus slaps!

I’m hooked, I’m stuck, oh, baby, I don’t get it.”

The “na-na-na” driven outro is especially C-U-T-E.  Infectious! Ultimately, JISOO does her big one on “ADDICTED.”  To reiterate, not only is she addicted, but listeners will easily be addicted listening to this B-O-P.
