After conquering the Billboard 200, why not analyze the Billboard Hot 100 as well.  Hot 100 Jewels examines some notable chart movement across the Hot 100.  This week, Sia – with the help of Sean Paul – keep those “Cheap Thrills” coming at no. 1.  Besides “Cheap Thrills,” what other Hot 100 jewels are there to uncover on the Billboard Hot 100, dated August 13, 2016? 

  1. Sia & Sean Paul keep the no. 1 spot warm as “Cheap Thrills” spends a second consecutive week at no. 1.
  1. Major Lazer featuring Justin Bieber & debuts at no. 2 with “Cold Water.”
  1. Could Drake’s run at no. 1 be completely over this time? You can’t count Drake out, but “One Dance” slips from no. 2 to no. 3 this week.

  1. Adele has another hit on her hands! “Send My Love (To My Your Lover)” jumps from no. 10 to no. 9.
  1. After rising to no. 8, Kent Jones’ “Don’t Mind” slips out of the top-10 (no. 8 to no. 11).

  1. Meghan Trainor’s “Me Too” looks like another potential hit for the pop star. It improves one spot from no. 14 to no. 13.
  1. DJ Khaled has a hit on his hands with “For Free” (ft. Drake), which ascends five spots from no. 19 to no. 14.
  1. Shawn Mendes’ “Treat You Better” improves five spots from no. 21 to no. 16.

  1. After three hits (“See You Again,” “Marvin Gaye” and “One Call Away”), Charlie Puth may be on his way to a fourth one with “We Don’t Talk Anymore” featuring Selena Gomez. “We Don’t Talk” moves up five spots (no. 27 to no. 22).
  1. gnash has a hit on his hands – with the help of Olivia O’Brien. “I Hate U I Love U” jumps eight spots from no. 35 to no. 27. No. 27 marks a new peak for gnash.
  1. Though it’s charted for 37 weeks, Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” improves four spots this week from no. 37 to no. 33. “Sorry,” which has charted for 40 weeks, also improves (no. 45 to no. 41)

  1. Coldplay’s “Hymn For The Weekend” ascends nine spots from no. 51 to no. 42, nine weeks in.
  1. After debuting at no. 11 last week, Katy Perry’s “Rise” falls 32 spots (no. 11 to no. 43).

  1. Desiigner’s “Timmy Turner” debuts at no. 46 on the Hot 100.
  1. Tory Lanez, who releases his much-anticipated album in August, sees the “Luv” rise 12 spots (no. 62 to no. 50).
  1. Britney Spears’ “Make Me” (ft. G-Eazy) didn’t have staying power in week two. “Make Me” slips from no. 17 to no. 52.
  1. Can Usher gain some traction with “No Limit” featuring Young Thug? We’ll see. This week, the record improves from no. 63 to no. 59, five weeks in.
  1. While much ado was made about Miranda Lambert’s “Vice,” the single slips 14 spots from no. 47 to no. 61.

  1. The Suicide Squad super collaboration “Sucker For Pain” moves up 15 spots (no. 79 to no. 64). It features Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa & Imagine Dragons with Logic, Ty Dolla $ign featuring X Ambassadors.

  1. Jacob Sartorius’ “Hit or Miss” debuts at no. 72. We reviewed “Hit or Miss” Saturday, July 30.
