Three words: “Let Me Cook.” And that, folks, is what Diplo (Thomas Pentz) and A$AP Ferg (Darold Durard Brown Ferguson Jr.) do (or attempt to do) on their collaborative dance/hip-hop single. Diplo, A$AP Ferg, KENZ (Mackenzie Johnson), Dominik Felsmann, and Daniel Etiane composed “Let Me Cook.” Diplo and KENZ produced; Felsmann and Etiane co-produced.

“Let Me Cook” begins with eerie, malicious-sounding, rhythmic synths. A hard-hitting, souped-up trap beat anchors… temporarily. After a while, the beat embraces dance. A$AP Ferg is no dance artist.  He remains true to himself over the dance backdrop.  How so? He infuses plenty of personality into his rhymes. Throughout two verses, his signature cadence and flow are intact.  During the first verse, that trap beat even returns temporarily. So, do Diplo and A$AP Ferg cook?  It’s not gourmet per se, but appetizing ‘fast food,’ if you will.  You can only do so much with two minutes and change. “Let Me Cook” is ‘cute’ without necessarily being, um, ‘smoking hot.’
