Metascore: 57

With just six reviews, newbie Kygo’s Cloud Nine only scored a 57 overall. Out of the bunch, only one review – AllMusic – gave Cloud Nine above average marks. Everyone else wasn’t as kind, with Q Magazine (60) questioning Kygo’s depth, The Line of Best Fit (50) pinpointing transitional issues, and The Guardian (one star/20) proclaiming that “the lyrics are as earnest and emotionally inarticulate as a 19-year-old on Tinder.”

What were our thoughts? On Brent Music Reviews, Cloud Nine received high marks, resulting in a three-and-half-star rating.  In other words, we didn’t hate it by any means.
