Grammy-winning R&B singer-songwriter Coco Jones brings it on her pleasant, sophisticated-sounding “Body So Tea.”
“Body So Tea” gets off to a fast start. The introduction is lovely, with smooth vocals, celestial keys, and a sophisticated vibe. The intro sets the tone for a refined-sounding contemporary R&B cut. As gorgeous as the production is, Coco Jones steals the show! She delivers superb vocals with a tone that is nothing short of everything. The melodies are rhythmic and tuneful throughout. “You know love is an action you choose / I’ve been plotting and learning to trust myself,” she sings in the first verse, and continues, “Put it all in my past tense / Letting go of the things I should lose.” In the pre-chorus, she sets up the body’s tea-ness. The chorus, introduced in the intro, is the crème de la crème, confirming the tea! It is incredibly catchy.
“Body so tea, hair, nails done, skin glowin’
Body so tea, hair, nails done, skin glowin’
Body so tea, hair, nails done, skin glowin’
Body so tea, body’s, body so tea.”
The bridge completely distinguishes itself from the verses and choruses. It fits perfectly, particularly as Coco touts self-love. “I don’t even try / I look good, and that’s for me, myself, and I.” On PERIODT! Here, Jones elevates her vocals to another level, if that is possible! All told, Coco Jones brings it on “Body So Tea”. This is a must-add to any contemporary R&B playlist!
