Are you ready to beam with P-R-I-D-E? Beaming with Pride highlights songs by LGBTQ musicians and allies, offering background, analysis, and discussion of the decadent bops served up. All genres are welcome, and both classics and new songs are recognized. So, without further ado, in the 43rd  edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “Badabim (My Kind of Terapiaa)” performed by Benjamin.

“Mä olen friikki ja mielenvikanen /Mun dynamiitti on biitti likanen / Baby, tää on mun portti euforiaan / This is my kind of terapiaa.”
Um, okay, Benjamin (Niclas Benjamin Peltonen), you handsome, Finnish man/musician. But I didn’t catch any of that as a non-Finnish speaker.  Translated into English, Peltonen asserts in the chorus of “Badabim (My Kind of Terapiaa)” (“Badabim (My Kind of Therapy)”), “I’m a freak and a lunatic / My dynamite is a dirty beat / Baby, this is my gateway to euphoria / This is my kind of therapy.” Ah, dancing… perhaps, a little dirty dancing at that 😈! “Badabim (My Kind of Terapiaa)” was written by Benjamin, Atso Soivio, and Iivari Suosalo. Soivio produced it.

Instead, he needs to act, and that takes the form of satisfaction. In the second verse, after he sings, “Tehä sitä, mihin Luoja minut teki [Do what the Creator made me for]/Liike kertoo enemmän ku tuhat sanaa [A movement speaks louder than a thousand words],” he adds, “Tänä yönä rakastele malttiaa [Tonight, make love in moderation].” Ooh-wee, he’s going to have sex!  In the post-chorus, Benjamin shakes his butt and sweats his worries away. I have no doubt that is a sight to behold 👀 🥵 🤭. On the bridge, Peltonen affirms that this is his drug, religion, and therapy, and it involves his waist. Right on.  Throughout “Badabim (My Kind of Terapiaa)”, Benjamin delivers the goods.  His voice is beautiful, and he brings plenty of attitude, confidence, and personality, PERIODT!  The melodies are tuneful, while the lyrics, performed exclusively in Finnish, catch the ear, whether you understand a word or nah.  Sleekly produced, embracing Euro- and Scandipop in all of synth-driven, programmed glory, Mr. Peltonen gives the gays another bop that totally slays!
