Banamak, Thrones [Photo Credit: Banamak]Seattle rapper/producer continues to make a habit of sheer excellence.  His continues to shine on “Thrones,” his fourth single released in 2018.

Banamak (Conner Bloyd) continues a streak of fiery records with his latest gem, “Thrones.” Slowly but surely, single by single, the Seattle rapper and producer has been building an alluring, captivating, and mature body of work.  Clearly, he’s a hella talented individual whose music deserves to be heard worldwide.  After dropping the stellar “Youngbloods” in May 2018, the question for the 26-year old standout was, HOW can he possibly match it or best it.  With “Thrones,” he offers a pretty sick follow-up by all means.  #Vibes.

BanamakBanamak describes “Thrones” as a “Feel-good summertime track…about being present and enjoying each moment.”  The results completely support that characterization, but not without some ‘brilliant quirks.’ Notably, “Thrones” is set in a minor key, which is often associated with the adjectives sad and/or dark.  While “Thrones” has a dark quality and toughness regarding the production and B’s flows, it also sounds exuberant as well.  How cool is it to capture brightness and darkness simultaneously?

The summertime aspect is also perceptible with a relatively chill flow. Even with that chill flow, Banamak raps with assertiveness, packing a punch matching the toughness of the production, specifically the drum programming. Beyond his awesome rhymes, his production is on-point, no questions asked. The synths are incredibly colorful, contributing to the ‘warmth’ of this made-for-summer record.  Notably, he never overproduces, maintaining a respectable balanced sound.  Again, #Vibes.

Final Thoughts

BanamakHaving the grand honor of reviewing Banamak from the beginning of his career to the present, it’s clear he keeps getting better and better.  That’s usually what happens with artists of all genres, and it’s exciting to see and hear that process.  It’s evidenced by “Thrones,” another surefire BOP.  The rhymes are chill, yet confident, perfectly supporting the aforementioned, self-described message.  The production – #AUTOPILOT #H.A.M.  At this point, he’s flexing, and the whole world needs to know who he is. Have I already mentioned, #Vibes?
