Aminé, Campfire © RepublicOregon rapper Aminé, known for viral hit “Caroline,” returns with his second post-Good for You single, “Campfire,” featuring Injury Reserve.

Aminé experienced some major success with viral single, “Caroline”. Hey, it’s incredibly catchy. His debut album, Good for You, had some great moments in addition to the ‘crowning achievement.’  Even so, Good for You simply didn’t get the attention it deserved – it happens.  Nonetheless, the Oregon rapper is back with his second post-Good for You single, “Campfire,” featuring Injury Reserve.

Aminé delivers a catchy, if repetitive hook, following the intro.

“Got a bad lil mama, and she always with the s**ts
Put a hundred in my pocket, then a hundred on the rims
That’s my lil b**ch, that’s – that’s my lil b**ch…
Put a red dress on her and some gas for the trip
Got a hundred in my pocket and a couple on the tint
That’s my lil b**ch, that’s – that’s my lil b**ch…”

In addition to the rockin’ hook, “Campfire” features a sick beat.  The groove instantly incites head-nodding.  Aminé complements it well, exhibiting an equally six flow on the first verse.  Among the list of things referenced are the “Harlem Shake”, “F**k the Police”, Oprah, CLBN (his merchandise), Whole Foods, and his own song and care of choice, “Redmercedes”Ritchie with a T raps the second verse, delivering an easy-going flow, performed in a nonchalant fashion. His references are notable as well: Drew Barrymore, ET, EBT, Randy Moss, NOW! That’s What I Call Music, Kidz Bop, and Hilton.

Final Thoughts

Despite being just over two minutes in duration, Aminé and Injury Reserve jam-pack “Campfire” with plenty of goodness. It’s not game changing, but definitely good stuff.
