It only takes ONE hit to solidify a musical legacy 💯! On 1 Hit WONDERful, we highlight songs that were the SOLE hit by a given musician.  It is possible that the artists appearing on this list earned a minor hit or two, BUT for the most part, that ONE hit earned them recognition. So, in the 33rd edition of 1 Hit WONDERful (2026), we dive into “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)”, the one-hit wonder by Aaron Carter.

“I’m dead (you’re done) that’s it for me / I’m gonna be picked off my family tree.”
Oh, snap! And why is that, Aaron Carter (1987 – 2022)? “Once Mom finds out ‘bout this party I had / I don’t even wanna start thinkin’ about dad.” Gotcha! Someone’s been a bad boy and thrown a party! “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” seemed like a far more innocent time for the deceased teen-pop artist.  This was before substance abuse, infamy, and a tragic death at 34 years old.  During this era, Aaron was a cute kid who the girls desired, and the boys wanted to be (don’t let them tell you otherwise, either). “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” is the second track on the multi-platinum sophomore album, Aaron’s Party (Come Get It), released in 2000. The gold-certified single was written by Brian Kierulf, Joshua Michael Schwartz, and Kelli Glover. Steve Lunt and Steve Mac produced it.

Well, Aaron already had a leg up with his looks as a heartthrob, but in the context of the song, he throws “the party of the year / All the fine girls couldn’t turn it down / Now all I gotta do is get my parents out.” He sends them on their way, and of course, Aaron’s party begins.  In the chorus, Carter is deep… said on one ever!

“People all around you gotta

(Come get it)

Everyone together sing it loud

(Come get it)

Jump all around, come on

(Come get it).”

You GET the point.  Of course, by the second verse, the party is out of hand.  Unwanted fellas… “Spilled juice on my Mom’s new cushion,” a broken lamp… And of course, there’s the third verse, excerpted earlier, which ends with the return of his parents and being G-R-O-U-N-D-E-D.  Corny, cringey, and unforgettable, Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” is one-of-one. Give him credit for his only song to crack the top 40.  The production is funky… in a teen-pop, teen-pop rap sort of way 😝.
