1. JORDY, β€œHypothetical Party”

πŸ’Ώ Boy β€’ 🏷 300 Entertainment β€’ πŸ—“ 2023

JORDY, BOY [πŸ“·: 300 Entertainment]Post boy story, in the context of his 2023 album, πŸ’Ώ BOY, Pop artist πŸŽ™ JORDY has a 🎡 β€œHypothetical Party” – WOO (a slick hypothetical party for that matter)! This party, however, isn’t particularly lit 🚫 πŸ”₯.β€― The self-described β€œextroverted introvert” is at the crib, basically.β€― β€œI wanna go to a party where it’s quiet / Where nobody’s around and I’m fine.” Say what? β€œA hypothetical party, I’m a riot / Home in bed by like ten forty-five…”  Again, so much of BOY deals with JORDY’s perceived lack of maturity, yet, he seems to grow and mature nonetheless, particularly as he seeks to avoid superficiality and potential toxicity.β€― To all the introverts in the world, we can rock with this party 🀘 πŸŽ‰!β€―β€―β€―

2. Lil Nas X, β€œLate To Da Party” (Ft. YoungBoy Never Broke Again)β€―

🎡 β€œLate To Da Party” β€’ 🏷 Columbia β€’ πŸ—“ 2022β€― β€―

Lil Nas X, "Late To Da Party" [πŸ“·: Columbia]β€œYea, fuck BET, fuck BET, fuck BET.” Woo! πŸ† Grammy-winner πŸŽ™ Lil Nas X commences 🎡 β€œLate To Da Party” by dissing BET in the intro.β€― It’s deserved given the openly gay pop musician’s snubs at the 2022 BET Awards.β€― He’s joined by popular rapper πŸŽ™ YoungBoy Never Broke Again on this confident, unapologetic banger produced by πŸŽ› Jason Goldberg and Take A Daytrip.β€―β€―

β€―Lil Nas X raps the first verse, beginning un-pitched, then embracing confident, melodic rap. β€œEverything I do, bitch, right or wrong, gon’ make a profit,” he asserts, continuing, β€œRead about it, I don’t even gotta sing about it / I wake up with the money that you niggas dream about, uh.” He’s joined by NBA YoungBoy in the pre-chorus, which is stacked in money! Lil Nas X drops the melodic chorus on his own, asserting, β€œDon’t try me, you better save that shit for somebody else / Don’t try me, β€˜cause, bitch, I can’t be late to the party, yeah.” YBNBA performs the second verse melodically and agilely with confidence through the roof: β€œShe wanna eat and I hope that she don’t bite now / She on her knees, and she’s worshippin’ right now.” Later, in the fourth verse, a confident YBNBA goes so far as to say, β€œKnow I’m ready as soon as she cum, uh / I lick it as soon as I’m done (Yeah, uh).” β€œLate To Da Party” isn’tβ€―β€―Montero’s best song but given BET’s diversity problem (the black community is NOT monolithic), the record has a bigger purpose.β€―β€―

    3. Bad Bunny, β€œParty” (Ft. Rauw Alejandro)β€―

    πŸ’Ώ Un Verano Sin Ti β€’ 🏷 Rimas Entertainment β€’ πŸ“… 2022β€―

Bad Bunny, Un Verano Sin Ti [πŸ“·: Rimas Entertainment]β€œTe tengo el toto sentimental, uh / El panty moja’o.” Say what? Well, along the lines of β€œI’ve made your pussy sentimental, uh / And your panties are wet” 🀯 🀯 🀯!!! With πŸ† Grammy winner, πŸŽ™ Bad Bunny 😍 and πŸŽ™ Rauw Alejandro 😍 in the house, Puerto Rico πŸ‡΅πŸ‡· is well represented. Who wouldn’t want to have a 🎡 β€œParty” with these two sexy, and most importantly, talented men? On πŸ’Ώ Un Verano Sin Ti, they link up musically with fabulous results.β€― Backed by production by πŸŽ› Richi LΓ³pez, La Paciencia, Albert Hype, Tainy, and Jota Rosa, Bad Bunny and Rauw Alejandro β€˜get it in,’ if you catch my drift πŸ† ✌🏻. The temperature 🌑️ is rising, among other things…   β€―

In the pre-coro [pre-chorus], Rauw paints a picture of this girl seeking to lose her cool and party – smoking, no strings attached, and vibing.β€― It sets up the first verse, where Bad Bunny admires how fine she is, and, expectedly, thinks with his pants 😈. Similarly, Rauw picks up where he leaves off in the second verse, admiring her, and closing things out filthily: β€œAntes de que entre le escupe (Mami) / La puse a brincar y en la cama hicimo’ unβ€” (Β‘Yah!).” Basically, they have sex, just in case you were wondering.β€― It’s clearly a #BODY PARTY 😈.β€―β€― β€―

β€―4. Carly Rae Jepsen, β€œParty For One”

      πŸ’Ώ Dedicated β€’ 🏷 School Boy / Interscope β€’ πŸ—“ 2019

Carly Rae Jepsen, Dedicated [πŸ“·: Schoolboy / Interscope]β€œYou don’t want my love / If you don’t care about me / I’ll just dance for myself,” πŸŽ™ Carly Rae Jepsen asserts on 🎡 β€œParty for One”, the closing track from her superb, 2019 LP, πŸ’Ώ Dedicated. β€œBack on my beat / Party for one,” she sings, adding, β€œIf you don’t care about me / Making love to myself…” Hmm, making love to myself, huh? Sounds like a case of self-love aka masturbation. It didn’t take long for β€œParty for One” to be labeled among masturbation songs, not to mention rarer female masturbation songs. Jepsen isn’t distasteful or explicit about it. She keeps things β€˜short and sweet,’ aided by bright, shimmering, driving production (πŸŽ› Captain Cuts and Hightower). That bubbly-sounding pop is her calling card, NO CAP.

Focusing on self-love, what’s the context? Basically, this guy isn’t the one for Carly, despite the fact she thought he was. β€œOnce upon a time, I thought you wanted me,” she sings in the second verse, continuing, β€œWas there no one else to kiss /… Was it all a dream I let myself believe?” Apparently, the answer is yes, and despite the hurt she’s feeling because he’s NOT it, she’s going to thrive at her β€˜party for one.’ The best moment of the record is the catchy, powerful, and enthusiastic chorus, where the production grows more robust, as do Jepsen’s vocals. Her performance is enjoyable, and she exhibits a great personality on this record.

        5. The National, β€œGuilty Party”

        πŸ’Ώ Sleep Well Beast β€’ 🏷 4AD β€’ πŸ“… 2017

The National, Sleep Well Beast [πŸ“·: 4AD]β€œIt’s nobody’s fault / No guilty party / I (We) just got nothing left to say.” 🎡 β€œGuilty Party” arrives as the ninth track on πŸ’Ώ Sleep Well Beast (2017), the πŸ† Grammy-winning album by alternative collective, πŸŽ™ The National. β€œGuilty Party” commences in subtle, restrained fashion.  A groove is established early on, but there’s poise, nonetheless. πŸŽ™ Matt Berninger approaches the vocal with the same subtlety as the production.  In other words, he doesn’t push the baritone too much.  The vocal performance is tender and beautiful, as is the production. Added details here and there that provide a nice touch. Given the theme of β€œGuilty Party” – a failing relationship, asserting no specific blame – the subtle, quiet vibe makes sense contextually. The National capture sadness soundly without a doubt.

        6. August Alsina, β€œParty”

        πŸ’Ώ Myself β€’ 🏷 Shake the World / EMPIRE β€’ πŸ“… 2023β€―

August Alsina, Myself, [πŸ“·: Shake the World / EMPIRE]β€œWhen we link, it’s a party!” Unfortunately, in the 2020s, R&B singer πŸŽ™ August Alsina has drawn more attention for his infamous entanglement than his music.β€― Alsina did record a song about the ordeal, 🎡 β€œEntanglements”, but it pales in comparison to his best work.β€― Alsina is a talent, yet how many folks knew he released a new album in 2023, entitled, πŸ’Ώ Myself? On the sixth track from Myself, Alsina has himself a 🎡 β€œParty” following days of being on the grind – WOO! Some highlights on this sensual two-and-a-half-minute joint include the pre-chorus, where August asserts, β€œMiddle of the week, you fuckin’ with me, all night / Love you β€˜til it hurt, now you late for work, it’s alright. Hmm, sounds like rough sex, and on hump day, mind you – feels right!β€― In the chorus, he makes it clear, β€œGirl you know, I can’t wait β€˜til Friday / We gon’ party and catch vibes…” In the second verse, this party becomes far more sexual: β€œKick back turned body party, yeah / Now I got that ass soundin’ like it’s applaudin’ (Now you) / Now you got that mouth soundin’ like, β€˜Oh my God’ / It’s rainin’, girl, it’s pourin’.” Clearly, the sex is LIT πŸ”₯.β€―

        7. Billie Eilish, β€œWhen the Party’s Over”

        πŸ’Ώ When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? β€’ 🏷 Darkroom / Interscope β€’ πŸ“… 2019

Billie Eilish, When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? [πŸ“·: Darkroom / Interscope]β€œDon’t you know too much already? I’ll only hurt you if you let me.” Well, at least πŸŽ™ Billie Eilish is being honest – keeping it πŸ’―. She continues singing in the second verse of 🎡 β€œWhen the Party’s Over,”  β€œCall me friend, but keep me closer (Call me back) / And I’ll call you when the party’s over.” β€œWhen the Party’s Over” ranks among the most beautiful songs on πŸ’Ώ When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, the critically acclaimed, πŸ† Grammy-winning debut LP by Eilish. β€œWhen the Party’s Over” continues the enigma that’s consistent throughout the album. Among the selling points are the use of space within the production (πŸŽ› FINNEAS), the beauty and minimalism of the backdrop, and Eilish’s smooth vocals and sweet vocal harmonies.  Billie sounds utterly fantastic on this ballad. Of course, the chorus is kind of a big deal: β€œQuiet when I’m coming home and I’m on my own / And I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that.”

        8. Young M.A, β€œQuarantine Party”

        πŸ’Ώ Red Flu β€’ 🏷 M.A Music / 3D β€’ πŸ“… 2020

Young M.A, Red Flu [πŸ“·: M.A Music / 3D]β€œWe inside / Party and quarantine…” The COVID-19 pandemic was NOT fun for anybody with far too many moments of sadness – a significant amount of death and severe challenges financially and mentally.  That said, music was a bright spot with numerous artists seeking to assuage the pain. That’s what unapologetic rapper πŸŽ™ Young M.A did on her banger, 🎡 β€œQuarantine Party,” from the EP, πŸ’Ώ Red Flu. Young M.A puts aside seriousness and drops straight fire.  The centerpiece of β€œQuarantine Party” is the chorus:

        β€œGucci slides, Versace robe

Big blunt, I’m in papi mode (Papi, papi)

Wake up with no fucks to gives

I’m like, β€˜It is what it is’

Ain’t got no wife, ain’t got no kids

But I got hundreds, twenties, tens (Twenties, twenties, twenties)

        Still got money comin’ in

Got bitches comin’ with they friends (Hello)…”

Young M.A doesn’t stop there, of course.  In the first verse, she focuses mostly on her drip and having excellent sex (β€œHennessy gettin’ her nude / That make her get in the mood / I’m β€˜bout to get in my groove / I’m β€˜bout to swim in her pool…”). She goes on in the second verse to rap about β€œGetting some cutty” from β€œthree hoes,” while bringing sanitizing into play as she spits, β€œCabinets full of that Lysol / Gotta spray my money (Hello).” Quarantine aside, Young M.A is living it up!

Cub Sport, Cub Sport [πŸ“·: Cub Sport]β€œI think I’m gonna love you for a long time / Boy, I can’t go a minute without you on my mind.” Aww πŸ₯°!!! 🎡 β€œParty Pill” continues the progression that Aussie alt-pop collective πŸŽ™ Cub Sport – Tim Nelson, Dan Puusaari, Sam Netterfield, and Zoe Davis – showcases throughout their πŸ’Ώ self-titled, 2019 studio album. On β€œParty Pill,” πŸŽ™ Tim Nelson describes falling in love for the first time and working toward acceptance and embracement of the reality.  This is the perfect record for someone questioning, or who has questioned their sexuality. β€œParty Pill” is quite relatable and authentic to the nth degree.  In the context of πŸ’Ώ Cub Sport, β€œParty Pill” marks another masterfully performed, produced, and written gem. Arguably, it can be characterized as the crowning achievement.  Also, it should be noted that Nelson is married to fellow bandmate, Netterfield 😍. Love is love, baby πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ!

          πŸ’Ώ GOD DID β€’ 🏷 We The Best / Epic β€’ πŸ“… 2022β€―

DJ Khaled, God Did [πŸ“·: We The Best / Epic]β€œParty all the time, party all the time, party all the time.” WOO! Do those lyrics sound familiar? Well, they originally hail from the 1985 πŸŽ™ Eddie Murphy (!) hit, 🎡 β€œParty All the Time”, which spent three weeks at no. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.β€― On his 2022 song, 🎡 β€œPARTY” (πŸ’Ώ GOD DID), πŸ† Grammy winner πŸŽ™ DJ Khaled heavily samples the one-hit wonder, and enlists the services of πŸŽ™ Quavo and sadly 😒, the late πŸŽ™ Takeoff for the bars. Khaled produced β€œPARTY” alongside πŸŽ› STREETRUNNER and Tarik Azzouz. In all honesty, it marks one of the better moments on the so-so GOD DID album.β€―β€―

Among the best moments of β€œPARTY” is the chorus, performed by Quavo: β€œGod did, God did, I’m a witness (Woo) / I just sent fifty bottles to bitches (Woo) / Know the gang in the VIP, by the pendant (Su’) / Still in the meeting, be back in a minute.” Aw sheee-it! Quavo’s verse is electric, as are Takeoff’s, including turnt up bars like, β€œPut that shit on, I ain’t tryin’, ballin’ on NBA combine (Ball)β€― Steppin’ on niggas, it’s crunch time (Steppin’) / Eat up that pussy, it’s lunch time (Eat it) /… We party all night and she never forget it (Never forget it).” Clearly, there is a party at DJ Khaled’s crib!
