B

ring on the braggadocio, drip, sex, and kick-a$$ery – is that even a real word?  Regardless of whether it is or isn’t, you’ve entered Rap BNGRZ 🔥 territory! On Rap BNGRZ 🔥 (bangers, spelled properly), the premise is simple and like other columns gracing The Musical Hype (Outlandish Rock 🎸🤘 is its rock brotha from a different motha). BNGRZ provides background info and commentary on cocky, confident, ferocious hip-hop/rap songs. The bangers featured on BNGRZ can be brand-spanking-new or certified classics. On the 3rd edition of Rap BNGRZ 🔥 (2022), we break down the banger status of 🎵 “Bubbly” performed by 🎙 Young Thug featuring 🎙 Travis Scott and 🎙 Drake.

Theme & Lyrics

Bitmoji Image“My career ‘bout to blast like bubbly.” Woo! 🎙 Young Thug has no shortage of cockiness and confidence on 🎵 “Bubbly.” He collaborates with 🎙 Travis Scott (second verse), and 🎙 Drake (third verse) on this 12th track from his 2021 album, 💿 Punk.  Besides collaborating with some of rap’s biggest names, he has a star-studded team on the production end of things that set him up for success.  That team is comprised of 🎛 Wheezy (“Wheezy outta here” is uttered on the intro), 🎛 Cardo, and 🎛 Dez Wright.  I bet this was one expensive track!

Bitmoji ImageOn the first verse, Young Thug ensures all know he’s a baller.  He gets whatever woman he wants, has the best foreign cars, designer suits, private planes… you name it – the drip is insane! Nothing he spits is transcendent, but that was never expected on a record named “Bubbly.” Travis Scott is “Still poppin’ and ragin” on the second verse, serving up his familiar flow.  he brings Houston into the mix, cleverly, rapping, “Eric came through with a little entertainment (It’s lit) / Area 29, got it lookin’ like space / Houston, it’s a problem way we bustin’ up faces and shit.” As for Drake, the beat is switched up, which is a welcome contrast.  No worries though – doesn’t stifle Drizzy’s confidence in the least.

“Doin’ this shit just to show we get down in the 6, man, it’s bigger than me

Texas ranch so big, that shit is perfect for the dippin’.”

Final Thoughts 💭

Bitmoji ImageJust to reiterate, 🎙 Young Thug and company have no shortage of cockiness and confidence on 🎵 “Bubbly.”  There’s nothing transcendent about it, just ample braggadocio over the course of two-and-three-quarters minutes. To quote Travis Scott, “It’s lit!”
